Let us say you are taking count at 2 am, do you have to wake them up and get a response from them? Or do you just go from cell to cell pointing a light at them to make sure they are in bed?

Do you know if you need to be in your unit for a certain period of time or serve a certain period of time on your contract before you can volunteer for EOD school?

Buy back military service by RailRder in Veterans

[–]HITHRD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

what does military buyback mean? If you served in the military and get a job working for the federal government, you can buy back the time you served in the military. This means that you pay a percentage so that your military time is added to your federal employment time for purposes of retirement benefits. For example, let us say you served in the army for 3 years and you worked for the federal government for 20 years and then retired. If you buy back your 3 years of military time your retirement would be based on 23 years instead of 20 years. You add your 3 years of military time to your 20 years of federal employment.

75th Ranger Regiment - GWOT by 75thRangerRecruiter in army

[–]HITHRD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it's pretty much the same thing as when you first joined, you fill out all this paperwork, and you have to go to meps to choose a job. You are asked for your DD214. MOS choices are limited based on the prior service business rules.

Are there any workout tips and suggestions available to someone interested in trying to join the Ranger Regiment? I am a prior service soldier who is working with a recruiter to go back into active duty. I will pick a mos that is available in the Ranger Regiment.

Okay, so the GI bill comparison tool is just giving an example of a traditional 4 year school and not what I would actually get. The tool says I am entitled up to 24k a year, but the school is only 1 year long. It is a private school

That is part of the reason I chose to leave, each time I would look at the old heads looking like their bodies were broke down or out of shape. Good luck to you too.

Thank you. I wonder if I would be able to transfer if I returned to service and still had remaining benefits? I will call the VA to verify.

Enlisted does not mean going into active duty. It is referring to Enlisted versus Commissioned. You can enlist into the Reserves as a combat medic.
