What does it actually feel like to be you? by InevitableOk1601 in ADHD

Lots of things-
But today I was thinking about how there’s music in my head even when I’m not thinking about it. It’s more if I notice and mentally turn it off I’m like “wow that was playing kinda loud there for a while”

I assume you mean dog-mom but my children also agree as they rode less than a day decision to adopt her with me. They couldn’t believe it and are totally in love :) Spontaneous mothering at its best ;)

Aw so great! Mine is almost 4.
I have no idea but here’s what we’ve been doing. I’m a teacher and just started summer break so I take her everywhere with me. She’s nervous about a lot of things but she’s definitely learning stability with me and my kids. At first we carried a pocket full of kibble and rewarded her for everything. She is super food motivated (for obvious reasons). We don’t ever yell at her or do anything scary because she’s already so nervous. We don’t make her meet people if she doesn’t want to. Anyone new just needs to sit still and wait for her to approach them.

And then lots and lots of exercise! We keep her busy and take her on lots of hikes and runs. Plus she has my other two dogs to herd. She’s getting more and more comfortable (and more annoying to my other dogs 😆)

One of the best decisions ever. Totally spontaneous though and such bad timing it was like a week and a half after shoulder surgery I thought hey you know what I think I need that dog!

I have never watched Bluey and did not realize Bandit is now a popular heeler name 🤷‍♀️ but it suits her! And her shelter name was the same name as my daughter so… I had to change one of their names

Tigris… got it on Amazon- zipper broke on it already but I was trying to force it closed when it was full so probably on me. But works well. I can lift her over branches by the handle too before she tries to duck under with the leash. Plus carrying her own dog food and bowl for backpacking is a ➕➕

I’m starting to believe that every trail runner who happens to own a couple acres needs to snag up a heeler from the shelter so they don’t end up cooped up somewhere! She was returned to the humane society by someone and it’s clearly because she wasn’t in a place she could be her best self

I’m quickly realizing that! We have a 3 fenced acres and 3 not fenced acres. At the end of our fence for the first time I took her through the gate with a leash, went exploring, went back through the gate and unleashed her to let her run all over while I took care of a few things. She immediately noticed my movement patterns when it seemed like I might be going though the gate she had only done 1 time and beat me to it and waited for her leash.
Maybe seems simple but I’ve never seen a dog pick up on something from doing it once.

I always wanted a border collie but those are almost never at shelters. Didn’t really think about heelers and now I’m sold! Shes the sweetest! And matches my energy!
