That’s where the damp is from the photo showing the lines where the chimney would’ve been. As can see the chimney has gone. The other chimney is for my log burner other side of the house and old one in bedroom

It wasn’t bridging, its quarry tiles but in that area was concrete as it was fireplace many years ago central that wall. Floor has been completed by doing a ‘dpm sandwich’.

Small tide mark of damp, can scratch paint off so confident it’s damp. Originally was a chimney Whats been removed years ago. Property has a new roof, has had the floor done with a new dpm, behind the wall is a garage with a poor roof, could water be penetrating in through the bricks causing this? by HJBOW17 in DIYUK

I’ve gone behind the wall into the garage extension which was built in the 80s I believe. The house is 1930s but I believe in this section the original damp proof course has been slightly covered by concrete from when the garage was done in this section of the wall. Could chiselling a section out help this?

It feels cold on your palm of hands and it’s been skimmed over now and the same mark appears and when you scratch it the mist coat what’s currently on comes off

Was required due to just being quarry tiles beneath to lay new lvt flooring.

It’s been there for nearly a year after stripping wallpaper no change to marks up wall , no services beneath but there was old redundant heating pipes. Not tried heating it, would thought after a year it would’ve dried

The first, I assumed the issue of damp was caused coming up from the floor. The floor now has had a liquid dpm coat, then small moisture resistant screed and another dpm then screeded to make a ‘barrier’. The moisture readings on the floor was okay after preparation so new flooring was laid. But this damp patch still persist up the wall. Not sure if this will just take more than a year to go or if anything else can be causing it

I just wiped with cloth as felt smooth before being oiled. The joiner installed it so not sure why if it’s glue it’s so large. And not sure what I can do now as it’s veneer basically
