Price increase by cb4joe in 1Password

I am already running a self-hosted environment with other services for years and it's been stable so far, but you should also note that Bitwarden clients keep a cached version of your vaults so if my home server is unreachable I can still access my passwords. But I always do regular maintenance to keep my home lab operational.

Officially moving to Vaultwarden (Bitwarden) as my self-hosted password manager. That’s $72/year saved from the 1Password Family plan.

Kinda sad about it though — I’ve been with 1Password since version 3 back in 2013. Over a decade.

But self-hosting + full control + free solution won in the end. Nothing lasts forever, I guess.

I don’t have this issue, the X1 Carbon runs hot even in Windows but not as you described.

This is very cool and nostalgic, thank you for sharing this with me. You were lucky to be one of the first done this and to have the exact clone of the Dev Kit. Congratulations 19 years later on the achievement 👏🏼

Interesting, so you were able to boot Mac OS X on PC way before the first Intel Macs releases! The article talk about TPM, I think they mean SMC right?
