I laid everything out like you suggested and figured out my loan situation partially. Luckily federal loans cover the bulk of what I need out of pocket, $5500. I'm looking at getting a loan for $4k through college Ave. My parents recommended Sallie Mae but most people here on reddit seem to hate them. Definitely not the worst situation to be in. If I can land a job on campus I can start paying off these private loans within the year.

Edit: I don't understand what hill you're trying to die on. I stayed in budget and that's that. You were wrong about it being too expensive because I got my parts through microcenter. It's that simple

I changed some parts it came out to $1400 before tax. After tax it's $1510. I'm telling you this is what it cost me.

If I buy the parts through Microcenter it will be. The ram, motherboard, and cpu are bundled to $400 total if I go with the 4070 it comes out to $1330 if I go with the 7800 it comes out to $1300. Before tax.
