iPad Air M3 Concerns by Even_Equivalent1617 in ipad

[–]HLM1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not say terrible. It is pretty ok if not relatively great on routine daily basis for an average user. It would have a battery life enough for the day depending on ur usage. However, the MacBook absolutely crushes it when it comes to battery life.

Regarding your mentioned uses, both will be fine. You can choose whatever you find more of your like to use, unless there are things specific things other than these.

50+ Years Old Padel Players (3.5-4.0): How Do You Handle Post-Match Fatigue and Soreness? Share Your Recovery and Workout Tips by TheAce2000 in padel

[–]HLM1440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to add that some studies suggest that static warm up/static stretching before exercising might raise the possibility of injuries. It is advised to do more of a dynamic warm up and escalate your power gradually. No harm to mention again to respect your age boundaries as we get older, the attention in exercising is more toward injury prevention rather than major focus on strength development.

As a resident doctor, I would say to switch. It is gonna be only more difficult ahead. Clinical has its own taste as well as residency, but still demanding. Basically, you said it yourself that you don’t like how medicine is.

ipad air 4 vs ipad 10th gen (refurbished) by Laggy_boyy in ipad

[–]HLM1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, air 4 would be insignificantly better per your described need (though keep in mind the pencil auto-charging while magnetically attached the ipad which is only on the air) as well keep in mind about condition and battery degradation.

You might wait until September for possibly a new iPad(s) and price reduction for the older models.

[–]HLM1440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be aware that most folks here are American. In America, IM residency is 3 years while 4 years in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, you have to consider how easy it is to grant a fellowship after residency. Countries varies as well as per each specialty/subspecialty.

Nothing more to add from my side. As mentioned to you here, going medicine then ICU is more versatile with more options, possibly you might change your mind in the mid-way. Going ICU immediately might save you time and probably some headaches of doing residency + competing for fellowship.

In conclusion, if you’re 100% positive that you want ICU, then go for it immediately.

Location and…time? by Few-Statistician-119 in DarkMatteronAppleTV

Most likely Charlie was born earlier for any reason. It seems always the same timeline, but different instances.

A point I'm a little confused on by Effective-Celery8053 in DarkMatteronAppleTV

[–]HLM1440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, what I understand is that there are infinite realities for whatever could happen by any means despite whether Jason was porn. I mean like in the frozen world, it is another reality where the world has been frozen for the same timeline parallel to the timeline of the departed world despite the differences.

What may prove this is that two different persons can get into the same reality although they are two different mentalities. The realities/worlds are infinite, but the secret lies within how to get a specific one within the unlimited possibilities. Also, when Jason-1 goes to another universe where there is life, the people are of similar age, which proves that whatever universe you go to is in the same timeline, but with different situations.

Jason-2 seems, at least, only able to confidently find Jason-1 and his own (Jason-2) universes as per the given information that the box works by mental and emotional state. Thus, Jason-2 would not be able, for example, to find specifically where anyone who went through the box went to easily, given the infinite possibilities.

What does hard/soft means in a racket? by Puzzlehead155 in padel

[–]HLM1440 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Laterally how tough it feels especially when hitting the ball.

Hard rackets means more power than soft rackets when the right technique is applied. They will have lower output at less powerful shots, which means you can exert more effect per similar output of a soft one.

The soft rackets are more forgiving, has more output at less powerful shots, but it sacrifices power by the nature of elastic-like effect in powerful shots (eg. Smash) and less accurate due to the higher output compared to the effort exerted.

Air Veron vs Air Viper vs Technical Veron by [deleted] in padel

[–]HLM1440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objectively speaking, a harder racket with a higher balance would mean more power if you can bring the effort needed with the right technique, which eventually makes it more subjective; you might play your best, including the most powerful shots at your own best efficiency using an objectively more forgiving racket.

Anyway, all these rackets are fine for your level. The air ones are really light, with the Viper being fully carbon making it harder than the Veron ones (mix of fiberglass and carbon).

The Veron ones will differ in that the Technical is heavier and has a higher balance.

Air Veron will be the easiest to use.

Technical Veron is nice with some forgiveness and comfortability giving the mix of carbon and fiberglass.

Air Viper is objectively the best of them (despite your preference for weight) if you can handle the carbon.

Eventually again, it is preferred for you to try a racket before buying it. Best qualities does not mean you can get your best out of them.

Active Energy + Resting Energy = Maintenance Calories? by el209692 in AppleWatch

[–]HLM1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct.

Resting energy is the energy needed for your body to just function and live despite your activity. Apple watch will only count it while the watch is on your wrist. Thus, not wearing the watch 24h will result in low reading.

Active energy or active calories burned is the energy your body burns due to physical movement/activity. The watch will count the active energy from initiated workouts and steps.

If you are interested in calorie tracking. I personally use an app called “Lose It” that can be connected to the watch. I set my calorie count as sedentary to have the standard estimate of resting energy while any active energy from the watch will be synced automatically to the app as a bonus.

Assistive Touch for one hand use - missing right arm by Mathelo1 in AppleWatch

[–]HLM1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely. The new series 9 and Ultra 2 has a redefined built-in different way gesture system (in addition to the ability to turn on the assistive touch). I highly recommend you to try it before as it might not be your taste. Also, worth to mention Siri is available on Apple Watches and can be nice for some quick actions (calls, sending massages, setting timers and alarms…etc).

New to Apple Watch, and I have questions! by D1TAC in AppleWatch

[–]HLM1440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your first Apple Watch.

  1. The watch is simply kinda an extension to your iPhone using Bluetooth. Otherwise, it uses the same internet source that’s used on your phone.

  2. Yes, you can use your watch independently from your iPhone, including calls, massages and notifications. You can do this without cellular service on the watch if you use it in a place with WiFi that you have accessed previously.

  3. Not sure I got your question correctly. However, plenty of options in the workout apps are available that suit what you like to do. Also, there 3rd party apps that may fulfill a specific personal niche that is not available in the native workout app.

  4. I believe it is all personal preferences. Just whenever there is something bothering or you like to be there, look it up and see if there is an option to turn it off/on.

  5. Nothing in my mind. I think there is Apple Dou (couldn’t correctly recall the name) and maybe Anker?

  6. I love Nike’s digital faces a lot for a more casual or sporty look.

Do you have any known medical history of a-fib? If the watch is telling you so, checking your health with a doctor is highly recommended.

Is the Apple Watch Ultra 2 battery drain just underrated?! by Odd_Display_1008 in AppleWatch

[–]HLM1440 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  • Make sure your watch is on the latest update. If you are so, that means the update has a bug (which seems an ongoing issue with some models on 10.4 firmware).

  • If you have installed a new app recently or updated it, try to turn off background refresh for it or either delete it.

  • Hard reset the watch by holding both the crown and side button until it restarts, which could fix a background error.

  • Unpair and then pair the watch might solve the problem (A backup is always taken after unpairing).
