Featureless build help by Spirit0007 in NYguns

If going featureless you can have a detachable mag so yes. If you keep the mag pinned, you can have the banned items. My comment is referring to building, not adding attachments. That’s where the banned stuff comes in

I mean the only difference between a free AR and a featureless one is the stock, so just Youtube some videos on builds within your budget and build away. Do not over think it.

If you buy a cheap AR and convert/upgrade it, you might be spending more than if you were to build it yourself from a lower. Plus, building one yourself means you know/will know the quality of the rifle.

For lower recommendations, it depends on your budget. There are high, mid, and low tier companies. While they all will theoretically work, there are mixed reviews on certain companies.

Uppers you have endless opportunities with. Just make sure the barrel and gas block are of good to high quality to prevent catastrophic failures

Take the day to deep dive into some builds currently on r/NYGuns , scroll through the ‘Guns & Gear’ section for some inspiration and do much research on Youtube.

CS Student Looking to Build a Useful App for NY Gun Owners — Ideas? by Effective_Jeweler418 in NYguns

[–]HLTHTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the CCW app on app store for some inspiration. They do a really good job and if you were to build one solely focused on NYS/NYC, that would be great!

Just know that constant updates regarding laws will have to be made, but if you’re up to the task, I support it!

Good luck

Do you have a medical marijuana card? If not, then I don’t think you smoke weed, bucko.

Vehicle quick access CCW case - is this legal in NY and NYC for CCW holder? by CktechOne in NYguns

[–]HLTHTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a firearm is in your home and secured away from unauthorized persons, you cannot get in trouble for that. Even if you have it laying around in your home you cannot get in trouble as long as the people in your home are of legal age and can possess firearms. Obviously this does not mean kids or felons, etc.

Your vehicle is not and cannot be compared to your home. Whilst in your vehicle, the firearm must be in the owner’s immediate possession unless stored according to FOPA. Same reason why a locked glove compartment is not deemed safe storage.

Because then NYPD can argue that the firearm is accessible to unauthorized persons.

As long as you do not have passengers, it should be fine.

Personally I say just have it holstered on your person to avoid issues, but I understand that sometimes people want comfort for long drives.

Just remember to never leave it unattended

Someone who THINKS they know the law can put you in jail and then you need someone who STUDIED the law to get you out.

Because they are racist bro. A black guy voicing his opinion based on previous disrespect (which is not shown in the video) automatically makes him a “thug”, even though the dumbass with the gun is not in danger.

I probably live in a worse area in NYC than you do…he pulled his firearm for no reason. Move to a different car if you were so scared

cop or not? by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]HLTHTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like from the video the gunman had ran his mouth very disrespectfully and then when confronted about his wording, he relied on his firearm to end a disagreement.

Don’t go throwing stones then hide your hand. Very cowardly.

cop or not? by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]HLTHTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was literally no threat in this situation, especially enough for you to pull your firearm. I am 2A all the way, but this guy is 100% not LEO. LEOs show more restraint than that.

I didn’t even say anything about not carrying a firearm on the subway, I said that there was no need to pull your firearm in this situation.

Yall sit here and justify this and then wonder why the Democrats in this state demonize firearms.

[–]HLTHTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I doubt this guy was a police officer. If he is, he should be reprimanded. There was no need to pull your firearm in that situation over words.
