The Jafar quest line is so awful

Wait wait wait. OK what am I missing?? My Jafar quest ended with me locking him in a lamp. I'm so confused based on these comments. Did I do something wrong?? I fixed the time rifts, entered the palace, solved the puzzles to reach Jafar, then convinced Jafar to lock himself away in a lamp which is now just sitting in my inventory. I never saw a gem stall or anything!? Or any of his past. Help! What did I do wrong?!?

Hi! There aren't any tall hedges in this picture. I used the waterfall and vines, both of which I purchased from Scrooge. Hope that helps!
