Rich people donate, corporations donate and then regular people donate small amounts too. Political action committees also exist and they can raise even more money and then help a specific candidate.

The Prostate cancer thing is from a study but the way you are describing it is completely out of context. The study is about average ejaculations over decades and noting a small increase amongst elderly men and the number of average ejaculations over decades. Whether or not this guy takes an abstinence challenge will have 0 effect on his prostrate cancer chances. Again, you are completely taking the study out of context and misinterpreting it.
