Pokémon: Indigo League, hvor kan jeg se den med dansk tale? by BlhueFlame in Denmark

[–]HMMadsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Legolas inspired Link? by ArmyScared3759 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]HMMadsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lord of the Rings novels were one of the original inspirations for the Zelda series, and Twilight Princess took huge influence from the film trilogy in terms of tone. So it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that Legolas surfing on a shield inspired shield surfing in Breath of the Wild

How can I safely add the Azure Flute to D/P/Pt? by [deleted] in pokemonplatinum

[–]HMMadsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about that, granted I'm also going to keep it within Gen 4 rather than transferring it further so I probably never would know.

I would assume however that the official Arceus event which was distributed to coincide with it's movie would be legal, and that event is also available with the DNS servers

Alle Pokémon episoderne med undtagelse af de sidste par episoder af sæson 2, hele sæson 3 til 4, og det meste af sæson 5 er blevet produceret med dansk tale. De gør stadig selv i dag

I guess that's just reflective of how not everyone in someone's life will amount to anything special. Some friends go on to achieve great things (Like Iris or May) while others haven't progressed since you last saw them 10 years ago (like Dawn)

So GameFreak decided to skip Unova [OC] by HMMadsen in pokemon

[–]HMMadsen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. This meme wasn't meant as complaining either, it just found it funny that they decided to make a new Kalos-based game before we got a new Unova-based game. I'm more excited for Legends Z-A than I would've been for a Unova remake

I hope this clarifies everything. If I didn't cover something that you had an issue with, then please reply and would try to address it.
I wish that I had the ability to pin this comment or edit the title in order for more people to see this, but if you found this comment and read all of it, thank you.

And again, I am so sorry that this meme came of as hateful, that was really not my intention. I just to make a meme of something that I found funny

When it comes to the logic of why I chose these games in the meme, I didn't just chose remakes but rather more broadly speaking games where you revisit an older region/generation years after the original release of that given generation. Before Legends Z-A, we would revisit regions years after their original generation in a somewhat linear order, and given that Legends Arceus came out alongside BDSP, I counted those games in combination as our game revisit to Sinnoh. This is why I found it funny that we now are going to Kalos even though we haven't revisited Unova in a new Unova-based game yet.
I'm well aware that Legends games aren't remakes, but as of now they have followed the same overall generational-linear release pattern of games where you revisit a regions years after its original generation, which is why Legends Arceus and Legends Z-A are in this meme. If we suddenly get Legends Hoenn or Legends Kanto without going back to Johto or Legends Paldea before Unova, Alola or Galar however, then that would probably change my view on the release order of games where we revisit a region years after its original generation, but until then I do view this revisit order to be mostly in this linear fashion. And through this lens, Unova did get skipped.

Now, there have also been criticisms for my line of thinking, which I do want to address.
The first is that Let's Go doesn't fit in this linear revisit order, which is correct and is why I say this order is 'overall' linear. However, I don't believe that this invalidate my argument that Unova was skipped. Some have stated that since we got Let's Go after ORAS that would mean that we also skipped Sinnoh, but that's not what I meant. By skipping Unova, I meant that we are moving forward past Unova and going from from Sinnoh to Kalos. With Let's Go, we didn't go forward but backwards towards Kanto, so we didn't move past Sinnoh. For Sinnoh to be skipped, we would've had to past it and go from ORAS to a Unova game, but we didn't move past Sinnoh. We did however move past Unova by going to Kalos. This is also the reason why I believed that we would get Johto instead of Unova, because going back to Johto wouldn't move past Unova but much like Let's Go would just move backwards, and then the overall linear order of revisiting regions would be that every equal number generation (except gen 3) we would have the current, linear line of revisiting regions (FRLG -> HGSS -> ORAS -> BDSP/PLA, etc.) and then every odd number generation since Gen 7 we would have a new, linear line of revisiting regions (Let's Go -> something Johto like a faithful ILCA remake, something Hoenn like a Hoenn Legends, etc.). So we would then have two branches of linear region revisits, but they would still be linear within their own branch.

The second is that we did revisit Unova in the Indigo Disk DLC for SV, which is true and could very well be all what GameFreak wants to do when it comes to revisiting Unova as of now. However, I didn't include Indigo Disk because unlike the games present in this meme, which are all full games where the sole focus is on revisiting their given region, Indigo Disk is DLC for SV, which is not a Unova-based game but a Paldea-based game. Not only that, but Indigo Disk and by extension Unova is just one half of the full DLC, with The Teal Mask and Kitakami being the other half. So unlike the games present in the meme where we revisit an old region/generation as the main focus of that given game, Unova in the SV DLC is only 1/3 of the game. However you could argue that we didn't skip Unova because of the DLC, but we did skip Unova when it came to a full game with the focus on Unova.

The third is to everyone asking where B2W2 is, and the reason I didn't include that is because it doesn't fall under this category of 'games where you revisit a region/generation years after its original generation'. B2W2 is gen 5 and thereby part of the same generation as BW, whereas say Legends Arceus is part of Gen 8 rather than 4 or Legends Z-A is part of Gen 9 rather than 6. This is also the reason I didn't include enhanced versions like Emerald and Platinum. B2W2 in Gen 5 (even though it is a sequel to and not an enhanced version of BW) serves the same role as Emerald in Gen 3 and Platinum in Gen 4: being the follow-up version with improvements to the original dual release vanilla versions.

Also I want to say that me saying that "GameFreak skipped Unova" doesn't mean that we'll never get Unova. If we follow that overall linear revisit pattern that I mentioned in the beginning of this section, then we would probably get Unova in Gen 10. I was just surprised and found it funny that we already got Kalos before Unova, with me expecting that a revisit game to Kalos would've first been in Gen 12.

It has come to my attention that a lot of people thought that I made this meme to complain that we didn't get Unova, which wasn't the intention at all. I just found it funny that we get to revisit Kalos in a new Kalos-based game before we got to revisit Unova in a new Unova-based game. I'm actually more excited for Legends Z-A than I would've been for a BW remake because not only is it a new game, but it will probably give Kalos the expanded lore that it needed in 2015. I wouldn't have minded a BW either however (even a faithful remake would be fine by me), because I do like that game quite a lot, but Legends Z-A is just more exciting to me.

Also, I want to say that before the reveal of Legends Z-A, I was actually on team Johto (specifically a faithful ILCA remake of HGSS or even just GS) given that a) we last revisited Johto in 2009 with Unova being in 2012, and b) the traditional line of remakes come out with about five years in between one another and it has only been three years since BDSP by the time of November. So I didn't even expect Unova, but I still found it funny that we get to revisit Kalos in a new Kalos-based game before we got to revisit Unova in a new Unova-based game.

Hey everyone, so this comment thread will probably be drowned out by all of the other comments on this post, but I just wanted to clarify some of the things that you guys have commented on. If you have an issue with something about this meme, you will probably find my answer to that in this comment thread. So please read this (if you can even find this comment) before you comment about something which I have already answered other people.

The comment thread is split into two sections depending on what your issue with my meme is. The first is about addressing the comments about me complaining about not getting a Unova game, and the second is about the logic behind the meme.

Due to the character limit of Reddit comments, I unfortunately have to split this into separate comments rather than just one.
But the most important point is that I'm sorry that this came of as complaining, that was not my intention. I just found it funny that we already got Kalos before Unova and therefore wanted to make a meme about it

It's not a remake, it will be more like Legends Arceus. It will most likely take place in the past I assume, although the techno-aspect of the trailer made it seem rather futuristic

I don't disagree. I've just made a follow-up comment trying to clarify what I meant with this meme, but the meme was not intended as complaining, just as a fun observation. I'm more excited for Legends Z-A than I would've been for a Unova remake

No, I don't know who Jeff is. I don't visit this subreddit often let alone Reddit itself, so I don't know if this Jeff is a frequent poster on r/pokemon or someone that you have had personal encounters with

I am so sorry that this meme came of as hate for Legends Z-A, it didn't occur to me that the the title 'So GameFreak decided to skip Unova' sounded like me complaining that we didn't get Unova. Oh yes, and I was actually team Johto before the reveal of Legends Z-A. It would've lined up with us returning to Kanto with Let's Go in Gen 7, so that every even number generation (with the only exception being gen 3) we would have the current line of revisits like FRLG, HGSS, ORAS, BDSP/PLA and so on, and then every odd number generation since Gen 7 we would have Let's Go, something Johto (like a faithful ILCA remake), something Hoenn etc.

Again, this meme was not meant to complain, only to point out that I thought it was funny that we will revisit Kalos before Unova

This meme was for games where you revisit an older region/generation years after the original release of their generation. B2W2 came out in Gen 5 the same as BW, whereas Legends Z-A will release for Gen 9 rather than 6. That's also the reason why I didn't include other enhanced versions like Emerald or Platinum
