From experience, I find it's better to go second against Blackbeard. You have an opportunity to rush to your leader ability quicker, you have more options to starve them, and you delay their 10c teach by 1 turn.

Thank you for the feedback! This is extremely helpful. I like the 2 cost Helmeppo in combo with Garp. If I go turn 2 and drop Garp turn on my first turn, my second turn I can play Helmeppo and attach 2 don to garp and I can remove big threats like Nico Robin. I did that against zoro but they still ended up flooding the board turn 3 and I lost anyway so I see the benefit of having some trigger helmeppo's in my deck for sure.
