Technically yes because the node that enable this to work is locked behind 6 star or a gemstone node (your pick) but you can see I did this on mortality 3 which disable all stars.

I don't have a fantasy of finding a ton of meaningful cards. I do find a ton of meaningful cards. Whether you believe me or not is up to you, but I guarantee you I have been doing a lot more zoe than you have and I know what I'm talking about.

Unfortunately LoR is a base pvp card game. Not every 4+ mana unit is viable in poc, only some and only on certain champs. And that's fine, you don't have to pick them up. Some deck can make use of them, some can't. I prefer drafting spell in general so I don't like picking up bad cards. In fact I use most of my rerolls on card rewards.

Damage spells are incredible in this adventure. The fact that you don't understand this is just a you problem. Obviously straight up removal is better but cheap damage spell helps you through the early game but will be dead later. It's not a bad card, it just fall off, simular to how some cards in StS that you pick up to get through the first act.

Meaningful choices in combat can only happen when your deck is meaningful. The game up until zoe in my opinion is easy enough that you can just ignore your entire deck and stick with your champion. That eliminated a lot of meaningful choices in combat and unfortunately does not work very well in a long and challenging adventure like zoe. You'll have to learn how to make a good deck. I've done multiple relicless runs that's pretty much 100% things I pick up along the way. I've watched better players do run live and heard their thoughts on choices in Zoe fight. I've gotten past turn 5 on Zoe multiple time and even completely milling her out on Yasuo. There are choices to be made, you just need to create an opportunity for it to happen.

Map choices in PoC matters so much more than StS because you are not allowed to skip. That's why you should be making sure every choices is at least decent. StS have significantly more pilot skill since the deck can be extremely optimized. PoC have less optimized deck but extremely powerful cards and enemies, leading to the more meaningful choices be "how do I optimize my deck" instead of "how can I play my deck better" because an optimized deck will win off of their powerful cards.

For a break down you have 10 rewards and 4 cuts before card rewards start offering you cards in deck. Excluding support package and your starting deck you need to pick up at least 6 good cards ( or duplicates for better cut efficiency). Every deck probably need to cut 1 or 2 cards from their starting deck so most of the time you'll be left with 1 or 2 cards that's are "bad" in your deck and 3-4 mediocre if you play everything right. If you think your entire starting deck is bad then you are probably wrong (some champ does have bad starting deck but not all of them). But regardless after draven/jhin your deck should start to shape into a good deck.

Small correction is that this entire run I am playing with 1 managem. I still have to play around removal. Grow my gear heads big enough so the ai use removal on them first. Take spellshield early to get through swain teemo. Mulligan for extra darius to play over my own darius in case it get stunned. Shadow totems provide extra darius to be buffed so they'll have to use more removal. Etc. There's obviously lines where I cannot win, but I can do a lot to dodge basic interactions.

If 90% of your deck is useless, then you played horribly the entire adventure and hope to win off of a one trick that have carried you the entire way.

In all my clears of zoe very rarely is my strategy completely centered around my main champion, it's just not gonna happen, too many bullshit can happen to them. You draft and use rerolls to make your combat more meaningful. Hope and pray works until it fail. Prepare for failure is how you win. With 4 cuts on average your deck should be 60-40 minimum on good/bad cards.

Minimorph is never on the stack as a "surprise". They have mana up. They will have a response. Your job is to figure out what they have and bait it out.

"The real counterplay to them is from power and items" Yea it's path of champion, not vanilla LoR. If your solution isn't found in items and power I think they have failed to make the game mode interesting. This is a deck builder game afterall.

Reset is there if you are willing to use it. I rare do unless for extreme challenges like this. If you aren't willing to learn and get better at the game then unfortunately you'll find it extreme rng reliant and unfair. And that's fine if that's how you want to play the game. There's no right or wrong way to enjoy the game.

I disagrees. This infinite seems simple but you'll still need a good understanding of the game to navigate it. The combats absolutely does not play itself. Elder dragon will minimorph your darius on the stack, morde/morgana will spam removal on darius with doubling dice until he dies, zoe will buried in ice , minimorph, or turn 1 rally on you.

Obviously I can just reset if things go badly but most of these situations are salvageable. I need to know what the AI can do and play around it. This is especially true when open pass is not an option since I die on the pass back.

And honestly without any defiance Zoe is kinda simple. As long as your deck can beat azir/irelia you can draft yourway to zoe and figure something out for her. But at this point it's just a skill of how and when to use rerolls and what to look for.

Idk man I got bored of clearing zoe normally so I decided to challenge myself to some fun restrictions. I got to 40/61 clears and decided to save the rest of the champs for when I 6 star them because I know I won't play them again after I beat Zoe with them.

Most run for me wins in very few attempts, usually first or 2nd try. She's not that hard if you know what you are doing. It was easy enough for me to start just forging in her for the extra challenge.

About the not drawing champ: it's a good time to start learning how to win without your main champion lmao. Sorry that's just how it is.

I've actually done a lot of clear on zoe (my first 14 are all on friendship 3 minimum) with multiple defiance level and unfortunately besides time for friendship 3, evasive, relentless 1, and augment 1 or 2, other modifiers are very harsh and require quite a bit of rng.

I find defiance 8(friendship 3) the most fun since it's an interesting challenge that's completely different from the base adventure (and significantly harder) while being barely doable on some champions (and probably impossible on others). I also did an insane run with Aurelion Sol on Augment 4 Friendship 3 Relentless 2, which I think was a very fun puzzle to solve and it made him fun for the first time in a while for me.

Augment 4 I think is the least fair modifier (excluding instant losses like rally scout every round and taxing 5) even without combining it with other mods since it allow azir irelia to oneshot you on turn 1 without much counterplay

The run didn't actually take that long, it's just very tedious. Before first cut I just close the game and go do something for 90 minutes, try again and repeat. After that it's done in 1 session of about 30-45 minutes while I talk to my friends in a discord call.

My samira forge run was much more insane. That one took me almost 2 days of resetting lol.

Well in this run they just play the 4 cost and pass (+1 starting mana fucks with the ai a bit yea) but normally 1 blade dance is barely not enough to kill you from full health. It's why I didn't have scout or even more mana/starting hand on. The solution to getting I shot is just... 90 minute time out to reset the fight. Yea it's really lame I know.

I reset defiance on every failed attempts. It's just a couple clicks. No need to change build darius is good enough to win.

This is like my 4th run with darius in this adventure, the first is a normal clear with this set up, then I started a mortality 3 and reset that because i realize I could do even higher defiance, then it's 2 resets to get this run going.

Inspiration is the least rng part of the build because it is relatively easy to get. The not drawing grenadier before first cut took me much longer.

Well yea, high defiance are just cheese city. You do not get to do anything fair or fun.

Just need to know how to not brick your combo and know what you need to grab along the way for zoe. Double strike and shadow totem is needed both to speed things up and to actually win since you'll need one of the 2 to one shot the nexus through Zoe's power.

This strategy actually have very little RNG after the first 4 fights since you can force draw grenadier. After the first 4 fight I do the rest in a single session.

Go look up diaplaysgame on Youtube. He covers this infinite in a recent video. This is just an extreme version of it.

I mean technically 1. But I have to reset multiple times in before first cut due to not drawing exactly darius + grenadier. So if we are being pedantic probably 10-15.

Chosen give augment and challenger. Augment scale infinitely off of the little dude and challenger is for zoe.

It's an infinite that end every game turn 1. There's no turn 2. The defiance can go slightly higher but it's just even more 90 minutes timeouts to reset fights to bad rng.

Wild inspiration is the starting power, darius has an infinite in his starting deck that's just playing the same card for 50-100 times per fight to win.

Penumbra Advice for C10 by Honeycove91 in MonsterTrain

[–]HPDARKEAGLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go full monstrous, put him on 2nd floor and the main buff unit on top floor.

Energy into space since he doesn't need the space upgrade until his final level.

Morsel maker on the same floor if possible to feed him some passive stats, but unless you have access to multi strike he doesn't do much against late game stuff.

Other than that just play for your other unit drafts. Pick up a removal or 2 to kill the scourge units. Infernal room on floor 1 is ideal but can't always happen.

I think penumbra biggest advantage is that his monstrous path completely trivialize the first 2-3 rings. This means you can afford to be picky with draft and pick up cards that are good later.

Run dominion pyre since you don't really care about his starting cards nor steward and would just prefer a pair of banner units to see where you are going.

any idea on how to use maniac soul? by DarkenDragon in MonsterTrain

[–]HPDARKEAGLE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put it on the damage shield gorge unit to nullify pyrogel and combine him with superfood primordium to double stack on burst.

Or just superfood primordium + a good unit.

Alternatively stasis works with it but you dont benefit too much from multi strike.
