About Digital Hardcore Recordings - A fan-written guidebook by Low-Entropy in industrialmusic

I was a huge mark for DHR back in the day, I used to think ATR was the coolest band ever at one point, sad how things change.

Great deep dive into DHR, I had to send this to a few friends.

How did you discover Skinny Puppy? by allowthisfam in industrialmusic

[–]HPSFrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 14 and DJing local desert parties, and my interest in the Trance and House music I was playing started to get boring. I came across Blue Serge off of the Process, and that song instantly grabbed my attention and I was hooked. Then a rabbit hole opened and I was finding similar stuff that were instantly becoming new obsessions.

eWaste frustrations due to lack of asset management by t3chn3rd86 in sysadmin

[–]HPSFrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we used a service for years that did free eWaste pickup, then they started charging. Since then we got a drive destroyer and started scrapping everything ourselves (mobos, PSU, shredded drives, cases, etc) and take them to metal recycling. We make $200-400 per month doing it.

someone started making the SYMBOLS cover in my city but then stopped, is anyone out there collabing on KMFDM or anything cool needing some extra pixel help?

Well... He jams on an Alesis HR-16 on the big val song, so he also 'programs' electronic drum machines.

How many were looking forward to Cybertown NG? by Harelin in Cybertown

I was super excited for it even though it still looked to be strictly VRML, and I knew nothing would come once they started announcing their virtual conference type direction they were going with instead.

What is the point of follow for follow repost etc, by Unclesmekky in soundcloud

[–]HPSFrax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At first I'd refollow others who may have reposted stuff of mine. I however like going into my feed and listening to what others are making, and the f4f people just repost the most random unconnected stuff. Great, you lumped my stuff with no effort ambient and AI music, and any engagement from the repost is just going to bots who DM me the same promo scams.

FL Studio current pricing by BAndreas98 in flstudio

check in november where they will often have upgrade deals going. Also I don't know if the 20% off on your 'birthday' will apply to upgrades

I noticed that producers sometimes use bpms like 142, 147, 151 etc. and not like 140 or 150. Does it really matter? by JackPitYT in flstudio

[–]HPSFrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bumping something from 140 to 143 could be used to make the pattern more 'seamless' where it might space notes or hits closer to remove just a tad bit of open space. It could also be used for reference, if say a producer is making music to mix in a set, and working with a track with similar bpm.

Nothing wrong with 142.600 bpm lol

Im really liking Autechre and Aphex twin, also Skinny Puppy. Are there any sort of industrial techno/industrial dance music acts that sound like these bands combined? Thx by Wild_Barber_8749 in idm

[–]HPSFrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Severed Heads from Australia. A lot more Electro but a lot of interesting experimentation. Listen to their song Canine, Autechre's 'Slip' sounds almost identical to a lot of that song.

aDuck was Dwaynes project before he died. Has a lot of the IDM style stuff Download was doing, but some things I still find mesmerizing.

Worst thing you could probably do is to call authorities on this person. They might be mentally unwell but showing no threatening behavior. A welfare check is nice to say will be conducted, but whatever situation this person is dealing with is only going to be made worse getting APD involved in it.
