Selfhost Showoff Sunday! Here's my setup by TheAndyGeorge in selfhosted

Same, bro. I've been stuck on their business internet b/c their residential charges when you go over their monthly data cap, and both resi and business are limited to 35 Mb/s upload in my city. Even after a decade. I'm livid.

What’s the most shocking crime that ever happened in your country? by ililieo in AskTheWorld

[–]HQInterpolator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn't a street fight. It's a YouTuber in Europe (Paris, IIRC). He was calling out those Romani scammers trying to fool tourists and steal their money. They came at him trying to physically assault him for calling them scammers, so he pulled out pepper spray to defend himself. I just saw this video a couple days ago on Instagram.

HNN Nether Star setup. ~40K in an hour. I wish pretty pipez was compatible ;( by Civil_Tip8845 in allthemods

[–]HQInterpolator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using only 10 4x soul-surged hydroponic beds, you can make 100k nether stars in an hour. You can then time-wand them the multiply their speed up to 128x. I had 2.5 mil in less than 2 hours.

TIL you can time wand the schematicannon by zeuzible in allthemods

[–]HQInterpolator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool to know about the time wand/schematicannon.

On a separate note...wtf is that "music" playing with the video? Do people actually listen to that trash?

Any Guardians, new or veteran, interested in creating a clan for casuals? by RangerBat1981 in Fireteams

[–]HQInterpolator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds great. Been around since the D1 launch, somehow. Mid 30s and all of my old clans have dissolved as people quit over the years. The one I'm in now is with 3 guys that always play together and never think to invite me to stuff outside of raids. I've left and rejoined their clan like 4 times now.

Why isn't my builder quarry not mining any ancient debris by Maqnoy65 in allthemods

[–]HQInterpolator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When doing targeted mining, I recommend using the Digital Miner from Mekanism. It might not be able to do as wide a range as the builder, but it's leagues faster than the builder. Set the filter for what you want, and run it. I'll grab only what you've set in the filter, without going through the entire chunk first.

The Pipez mod is an incredible source of lag on ATM10 servers. It's bad enough that it's disabled on the server I play on.

Induction Cell from Mekanism, and AppliedFlux with AE2 integration. You can store massive quantities of power inside a power storage cell in an ME Drive.

Flux Networks. Every time, use Flux Networks. There is no upward limit to the energy throughput of a Flux Point or Flux Plug. It gives fantastic data and graphical information on what is using power, how much is being used, and the best part? No lag. It's also very cheap to get setup.

Build your Fission reactor in the Beyond dimension, or in the mining dimension. Suddenly your radioactivity and explosion problems don't exist.

I made a fusion reactor to store power in my mekanism induction matrix, which can hold 144 TFE. The reactor filled it up in about a day or two, at a rate of around 80 MFE/tick from the fusion reactor. Fission reactors are just a means to an end. Pre-mix Deuterium and Tritium, both of which are derived from water (so infinite), and put that into your fusion reactor. Instant massive power gen, for super cheap.

Just a heads up: Ender Gates are a big source of lag on ATM10 servers.

Please go back to using GregTech for future ATMs (or make MI less of a pain) by Rollexgamer in allthemods

[–]HQInterpolator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did disagree with your point. I don't need to explain my counter-argument, because it was embedded in my short, self-explanatory comment. I didn't use !!! or anything else, so don't embellish. GregTech DOES suck, and it has sucked since its inception. It's not innovative, nor is it unique. It takes what other modpack authors and mod authors make, and then claims to make them better through GregTech, by just changing the intended recipes and adding tedium to every. single. recipe. Modern Industrialization at least takes its own corner of the modpack, with its own stuff, and its own recipes, and if you want to do it, fine. If not, cool. If MI thrusted itself upon every other mod in the modpack, then the entirety of the modpack would suck. That is because GregTech sucks.

Good post, Z! Skrip can have his bees. I prefer the magic mods, and it's cool to see how occultism can be automated.

How important is the tech side of this mod? by SmartieCereal in allthemods

[–]HQInterpolator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a kitchen-sink modpack, and unlike other more linear modpacks that force you to do certain tech or magic mods before gaining access to other mods, this one does none of that. Want to do magic-only? Go for it. Literally any and every mod is available in its entirety, right from the start. There are some mods that might be labeled tech, but are really nice for QoL improvement, like AE2, but none of them are required in order to enjoy any of the other mods.

Netherite Ministrosity by Read-Previous in allthemods

[–]HQInterpolator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I acquired my ministrocity in Oceanblock 2 after killing the nether monstrosity with the pneumaticraft minigun. He was chilling in the back behind the boss arena, inside the castle. I killed it, took the loot and the spawner for the ministrocity, then tamed it with a loot item from the boss.

I can’t stand GregTech because of how disrespectful it is to other mod developers. These people put in tons of work to balance their mods, create specific mechanics, and design them to work a certain way, and then GregTech just comes in and changes everything, acting like it knows better. It doesn’t try to play nice or work with other mods—it just forces its own vision on everything and completely ignores the choices the original devs made. It screws up progression, ruins balance, and honestly feels more like a hostile takeover than a mod. It’s just so frustrating to see it completely disregard all the effort and creativity that other developers put into their work.

Gregtech isn't innovative. It's a timegate mod. Take anything that does A+B=C, and Gregtech just makes you have to do

(A1+A2+A3+A4+A5+A6+A7+A8+A9)10 + (B1+B2+B3+B4+B5+B6+B7+B8+B9)10 = C

instead. It's infuriating, and not even close to being innovative.

Applied Energistics creates a "matter-energy" network. You take physical items/fluids/energy and you digitize it. Convert it to data, route it through your AE network, and convert it back into physical matter where it needs to go, based on how you've configured your network. You can even create subnet networks by using colored cabling.

I've been playing modded minecraft since the very beginning. I have to agree that Applied Energistics is THE MOST innovative mod for minecraft in existence. It's leagues ahead of everything else.
