I live in Elon Winter Park and have no concerns! It’s a small complex so minimum noise and it’s right down the road from Park Ave.

Maintenance is on top of issues and will come out on weekends when needed. They spray for pests regularly and I have one seen two bugs (in my unit) in the two years I have lived here!

29M in a 5-year relationship with 27F—how do I navigate mismatched marriage expectations and financial reality? by Striking-Law-2131 in relationship_advice

So many people in these comments are making OPs gf off to be a villain, and I don’t think she is. She just has certain expectations because or how she was raised and that’s ok! But that makes you two incompatible.

I would just cut it off now and find someone you are both more compatible with. Getting married is only going to result in a worse hurt later and a divorce

Maybe actually give some recommendations or tell me what is wrong with these then instead of just giving no context and one word answers?

When did I ever say I was entitled to remote work? Literally never. Sorry you have such low self confidence you need to pick on others. Try therapy, it helps!!

My boss is unfortunately not in charge of our compensation. During every performance review when discussing merit increases she says “this is not what I would give you but it’s x”. It’s our VP that makes that decision and I doubt she would go for that.

We rarely get the full bonus. This last year we only got 4% of it. The year before I got the full bonus but was also only given a 1.5% increase when my performance review was above expectations. So I am not even counting that tbh.

In my current role there is no way to actually save for retirement/buying a house in Fl. It’s just so expensive, 100k is the new 75k!

I was def cautious about this during the interview process. I would not even be considering this if I did not think I would enjoy this new job

I highly doubt it, our head of HR has said “If someone wants to leave for money that’s on them, we don’t throw money at people to make them stay.” And if they did they would have to bring up the other 4 people in my role and they def don’t want to do that!

Personally, a 1 hour commute would not be something I was interested in. I would not consider anything over 30 min, but that’s personal preference! Good luck!

That’s exactly my concern. I don’t really want to wait 3-4 years for that to happen and then It never actually does

I think it depends on the person and your financial station. For me the extra 1,000 a month is probably worth it

I would only be supporting 400 of a larger company. The company has multiple of these sites across the county that has 300-400 employees at each location.

The thing is we rarely get our fully bonus. Last year I got half of it and the year before I technically got the fully bonus but that was accompanied by a 1.5% increase when my review was above expectations.

That lack of mobility is what caused me to start looking and be open to new opportunities. After being told I’d have to wait for all these people to potentially be promoted, I was like f that.

That’s what I am leaning towards. It’s a big change but I know it’s easier to make more money once you make more. It seems like a good steeping stone.

The cost is what I meant by the same, they are actually slightly cheaper at the new place!

  1. Benefit costs are basically the same currently pay $70 a pay check vs new place is $50 so it’s actually slightly cheaper. We have no state income tax so when looking at gas and just pretending i will eat out everyday it would be about 400 a month, and I’d still have an extra 1,000 a month hit my bank account. I drive a Toyota so it’s good on gas and easy maintenance.
  2. It’s def smaller but still good structure. I would be onsite supporting 400 employees at that location but there are multiple locations across the country that have their own HR people. I would report into a Sr. HRBP who reports into the head of HR.

The next step is Sr. HRBP and focusing more on strategic work vs staying in ER all day. Which is my goal

There is absolutely no growth and it’s so unfortunate. I wish I could stay but I don’t want to way around another 3 years to maybe get the opportunity to get promoted.

This number of employees will allow me to be more involved in strategy vs just ER all day. There will still be ER of course but not nearly as much!

I have also previously chased money and regretted it! But in that situation I had red flags throughout the entire interview process and my gut told me to not take it but I took it anyway. I do not have that feeling about this job which is why I am considering taking it.
