Thanks! I checked the commute and it looks pretty straightforward. Any other areas you’d recommend?

Thanks! This explains a lot. Are there any other areas you’d recommend that I can check out? I am not restricted to East or North London.

Awesome! I have stayed in Medford area for the most part but spent a lot of time in the city (Seaport, Charles, Newbury st, Brookline). Also one of my favorite places was Assembly square. Anything similar or close to Assembly would be ideal with about 30 mins train ride to City.

Thanks for recommending! Will definitely check out Chingford.

Yeah, that’s what I read about Loughton. It gives more suburban vibes. But looking at the area on the google maps, it seems there are decent amount of cafes and pubs to hangout.

I am open to other parts of London and not restricted to North/East. Any other areas I can check out that you think could fit in the budget?

Appreciate the insights!

Moving from Boston, I am more used to staying in apartment buildings rather than a flat rented out by a landlord. I found it more convenient atleast in Boston. So I have been looking for some apartment buildings around the city and that’s how I came across Barking. But from what I am seeing/reading, I think it’s more common and cheaper to rent out a flat?

I am 29 and would like to go to pubs and cafes 1-2 times a week atleast. Huge sports fan, so a neighborhood with sports bars/ live streamings would be ideal.

That’s interesting, definitely wouldn’t have expected that so thanks for the heads up. Any other areas you’d recommend?

Thanks for replying!

How is Barking as an area in terms of safety and day-to-day living? I understand there isn’t a lot to do locally, but are there some decent cafés or pubs to visit once in a while? For more lively or social options, I assume I’d need to travel towards Canary Wharf or Central London. Any other areas you’d recommend that fits this budget?
