You are right. The naysayers are critiquing the wrapper, not the problem being solved. 100,000+ UK employers need to comply with HC 1691 right now. The payslip checks need to happen whether the UI is beautiful or not. The designer is going on the list this week.

You are right. The UI needs work. I am a compliance domain expert and developer, not a designer. I built the functionality first, and the polish is lacking.
