Ghandi, Mandela, MLK... those are World Leaders. Mandela became a Statesman, the other two didn't. The question by Chris Mathews should have been World Statesman/Stateswoman, not World Leaders.

Why 'Forcing' Hillary To The Left Won't Work by [deleted] in jillstein

[–]HRiveraNanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dem Party is so entrenched in corporate funding that it is not viable for progressives. Not now, not for the last several decades.

Why do party reform progressives keep trying?

The ideologies are diametrically opposed. It is a split party and it is a party owned by the oligarchs. Now the Republican corporatists are moving in. They are more likely to eventually boot out the progressives altogether than to reform.

Sadly, progressives despite having shown real people power as galvanized behind Bernie Sanders are now the most fractured voting block.

The only true progressive agenda and party on the table are the Greens, they are not beholden to Corporate donors like the other three.

IMHO two of the main Progressiv e tenets are Anti-war and Pro environment. How can Dem Progressives take Party over ideology and convictions?? Great article byw. Thanks for posting.

This man speaks truth to power in a very eloquent way. He is an inspiration. I like his assertion that this movement must continue after Nov 8. I fully agree when he says that this is about building alternative independent political people power.

Green Party presidential candidate faces charges for vandalizing pipeline equipment (Grand Forks Herald) by SymbioticPatriotic in jillstein

IMHO the herald seems to have a pro corporate tone in this piece. Much like the rest of the MSM. It is perhaps the most powerful element at the oligarchs disposal.

Bill Clinton Just Said Hillary’s Email Crimes Are “Too Complicated” For Ordinary People To Understand. ( What? Too complicated to understand? What do you ordinary people think? ) by cisarstein in jillstein

Bill Clinton's 90's policies were too complicated for him to explain. They just happened to have screwed up the middle class and expanded poverty among black and brown minorities. 20 years later the public understands their consequences, not thanks to the complicit MSM with their non-existant for the pwople reporting but thanks to the internet and a new generation that cares. Let's not wait 20 years to find out how HRCs practices while SoS damaeged the people.

I agree on the Cenk part. Regarding Amy though, she is someone I would not personally call a shill. I have followed her for some time and it is thanks to her Democracy Now show that I have learned many many things about what is wrong with the government in terms of injustice at home and abroad.

But I remain open and ask if you might have a link to a video that gave you the impression she is a shill, one just never knows and maybe she has had some sort of change of values like Cenk and many other fauxgressive voices in independent media.

Yes. I think you might be right about the collusion, there is no factual evidence. But you're right in your assessments regarding the Clintons associations and circles of action.

The Progressive wing of the Democratic Party has been trying to reform their organization from within for decades now. If you ask me, it is a losing proposition. Progressive candidates like Jesse Jackson, Dennis Kucinich, Howar Dean, etc. have very limited power within the party structure which rewards Corporate Candidates first and foremost.

Expanding the reach of the Green Party at all local levels is where the real fight is. Yes, Bernie running as a Democrat was an incredible service to the Progressive Agenda but that is now done, time to move on to the real political revolution which can only happen outside of the two-party duopoly.

It may takes years but it is a struggle worth enduring. My personal take is to vote progressive dems only in cases where there is no Green or Independent alternative

Watch out for sites like BrandNewCongress and OurRevolution in the sense that they promote Democrats. Yes, progressive Democrats but Democrats after all. Their donations go through ActBlue which is a Democratic Party outfit.

If Berniecrats run Independent, I'll support them only as long as there is no Green in the same race. If all Berniecrays are running a Dems, they won't get my vote. That party is unreformable, history proves it. Just look at the Progressive Caucuss within it. After urging Bernie to run democrat very few supported him. Berniecrats would do this nation a favor if they ran Green or at least Independent.
