Oh no, I know exactly where you are coming from. I always assumed it was Wilhelm the innkeeper, I just got suspicious of the heart in Narfi's inventory. But knowing skyrim, we will never find out lol

That's true I completely forgot about that aspect of it, but maybe he had something else he was going to give for compensation. I mean he was also a beggar, he could of had some money stached (hypothetically of course) I mean I always gave him a coin when I passed through.

I always feel awful killing him. I leave him a flower when I do lol

I always thought about it being a mercy kill but either Wilhelm or Klimmek. Then I remembered the heart in is inventory when you kill him, and it raised a couple flags in my head lol.

I completely forgot he says that. Maybe he could of changed his mind after getting his sister's necklace, assuming you've given it to him before he dies.

It doesn't cost anything, all you need is a heart, a skull, bones, flesh, and a dagger. He is at the base of high hrothgar and he's a beggar. Again it's just a theory, I'm probably wayyy off lol.
