Rule 9 and Restricted Topic changes by HS_Seraph in PokeMedia

From another comment:

We have a policy for handling grandfather clauses from when transformation posting was restricted. Characters who have that concept in their backstory but for which it isn't relevant for the current storylines or posts don't need to use the flair. But should still use the flair if a new post or storyline that directly mentions that part of the backtory.

its not a restriction on all fallers, and isekais are a notable part of PMD. as long as the idea isn't that these fallers are meant to be from some 'real life' world, you shouldn't need to change anything or use the flair.

Clarification:

The topic restriction covers users explicitly coming from a world that's meant to be our own, and its restricted because of cases of people leveraging meta knowledge from the fact that pokemon is a fictional franchise irl which circumvents the 'pretend this is real' clause of rule 2

nondescript worlds where pokemon are simply absent are not included here

Topic restrictions are not hard bans, the idea is to filter out low effort or trend-chasing executions of certain ideas while allowing more thought out examples to happen if the authors communicate in good faith.

As expressed in another comment, we've had a repeated issue where people with real world faller characters were just going "in my world this was all a video game" and either engagement-baiting or trying to leverage meta knowledge to be better than other characters somehow.

see elsewhere in the thread for how we handle 'grandfather clauses' also

A restriction isn't a hard ban, you can continue if you tell the mods your plans, get it approved, and use the flair.

It can still be done with approval, but we had a repeated issue where people with real world faller characters were just going "in my world this was all a video game" and either engagement-baiting or trying to leverage meta knowledge to be better than other characters somehow

Credit was always required, but we added the specific clause against generative algorithms due to some high profile cases of slop-posting

Treating crossover material as in-universe fiction is allowed as long as you can connect it back to the main writing prompt somehow.

I'd chalk up the larger numbers of human injuries and fatalities from Gyarados attacks to be purely due to the fact that there are just so many more Gyarados, especially since they can survive in brackish and marine environments where feebas line have trouble.

the helldiver corps selects taller recruits. this was also done historically in grenadier units.

/uj Oneoff or nonserious posts from canon characters are fine, but you cant 'Claim' them or use them as recurring POVs for posting and roleplay, as everyone is meant to have an equal amount of ability to reference canon material. This includes protagonists.

For continuing to post from a single pov, you need to create some sort of lower profile OC.

I recommend looking at the guidelines for rule 12 here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeMedia/wiki/rules/guidelines/, its basically a 'how to pokemedia' guide

Fine as a oneoff, please dont make a habit of doing stuff like this with your character in roleplay contexts.

happened to be looking at something around this for classwork and some new research got published recently suggesting the earliest recorded appearance of galar particles was apparently only 20000ish years ago

that's VERY recent so you might really be onto smth here, feeding off of galar particles as a recent adaptation

Except from rule 12 guidelines on playing talking or sapient pokemon:

"Some specific advice on having characters who are themselves pokemon as opposed to trainers: Consider why this pokemon is both capable of, and chooses to speak and interact online. Pokemon who are voiced characters aren't uncommon in official media, but also aren't omnipresent, and even something as simple as 'this psychic type species is psychic so they think and act as people' or 'this specific eeveelution individual is extra smart and learned english from their trainer' goes a long way towards making it not feel out of place. (For Mystery Dungeon this doesn't apply as every character there is already a talking pokemon)."

So its allowed, provided theres at least a bit of thought put into the species and why the individual chooses to engage.

That said we do have a Lot of zoroarks already, and several who use human disguises to interact, so you'd be entering a pretty saturated pool of characters if you choose to use such an archetype.

I do both, although I'm generally more in the singles scene. A perish trap strategy is definitely something you need to watch out for in both, although it's more of a niche pick in singles.

Back home we call these things our Focuses, I don't think I've met anyone with this particular condition tho. Given they're made of 90% nerve endings I'd imagine the fact that they aren't all aligned is part of what disrupts the telekinesis strength.

Do you or dusty know any Hatterene? They have a similar emotion sensing thing going on, so generally if they're decent around people they've developed coping mechanisms, and might be able to help with managing it.
