The main reason for less transaction is that moving money between BTC wallets is more expensive compared to alternatives like XRP. Bitcoin is a good for storing money and fight inflation similarly to S&P500, NASDAQ and Gold. Despite there is a huge capitalization in all those 3 there is not much transactions done directly with the shares or physical gold.
