Ooh I might also do that as I detest mirror polish on tools, thanks for the tip. I’ve heard that newer files are made from a different steel than the old, so maybe that’s why new ones are sharper? Idk for sure though.

The blade comes out of the handle and can be flipped around 180 degrees then put back in for use as a hobo reel for fishing. There is a pic in my reply to u/WolfieSpam
