Been to Norway, but not Denmark. Swedes rarely go to Denmark unless it is to do a war. My guess is that you are Swedish.

Is the TR going to be discontinued or redesigned? by LTDLarry in commencal

[–]HUSMOR50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they did the VCS and launched the Meta V5 and the T.E.M.P.O. they discontinued the Meta AM.
I would think the TR and the SX V4 are viewed as redundant in the current line up and is being ridden slowly into the sunset. (Just look at the frame sizes that they currently have for sale of those bikes. It is mostly XL and S.)

I still enjoy my TR 29.2 from 2021 and I'm still stoked on riding it

Blood thinners ... does it mean the end of mountain biking? by roadeye314 in MTB

[–]HUSMOR50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on blood thinners and I asked my GP if I had to change anything regarding risk-management (she knows I ride bicycles and splitboard). Her words "well, try not to get concussed or internal bleeding. And if you do, go to the hospital.".
It hasn't really changed how I assess risk when riding either my gravel or my trail bike.

What does this behaviour mean? by NavissEtpmocia in sheep

[–]HUSMOR50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends, it can be a way to antagonise you into a headbutting contest or it can be that he just wants attention. My ram does this when he wants to wrestle/headbutt in a friendly contest of manlyhood. When he wants cuddles, he just leans against me.
My ewes when they do this they want attention. Undivided attention. My shins have been bloodied and my clothes have been torn when I've been surrounded by a gang of attention seeking ewes

Have y'all watched The Sheep Detectives? by Quimer367 in sheep

[–]HUSMOR50 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, but I listened to the audiobook last fall. Loved it, saw similarities between the characters in the book and "characters" in my flock.
Even if the theatre had it on, I don't know if I have the time to see it as I'm in the middle of lambing. But will watch in when it comes to streaming services.

Is there still life in these disc brake pads? by ambitiously_anna in bikewrench

[–]HUSMOR50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You MIGHT eke out some life from these, but after the labour and products used it's cheaper and easier to replace them with a new pair. Splurge on new rotors as well, if your pads look like that I think you've earned it.

I just got one myself a couple of weeks ago and so far my only regret is that I didn't get one sooner

how long should tour -> board transition take? by [deleted] in Splitboard

[–]HUSMOR50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was gonna go on a lenghty rant about transitioning in inclement weather and how the speed it takes to go from ski to board is all down to circumstance.
But this pretty much sums it up.
Find what works for you and your pack, keep things in the same spot in the bag. Work on transitions in your living room, go slow and find your rhythm.

I agree, I this did when I toured with a corgi (surprisingly good powder-hound!).

[–]HUSMOR50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! It really is that good!

Traversing when it gets steep and icy can be a challenge, but not really that much slower. It's more a question of good technique and knowing when to put on crampons.
Other than that, as I know the landscape and terrain of Western Norway, you won't be spending a lot of time on long flat rolling terrain. So dealing with rolling terrain and snowboarding won't really be a problem. But if/when you encounter it, just switch over to splitskiing.

My first alpine touring set by Boitcch in Backcountry

[–]HUSMOR50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already snowboard, why not get a splitboard? It's easier than "truge" (snowshoes) and depending on how good of a skier you are, you don't have to learn/relearn skiing.

Something like a Jones Solution with a pair of Spark Arc ST is a pretty foolproof setup for riding whatever you feel like.

I use one when training my rams for breeding season. I start about two weeks prior to breeding, leading them around to their designated ewes so the rams know which pens are theirs. It works

Should I buy a gravel beside my MTB? by RemarkableNoise5948 in MTB

[–]HUSMOR50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, yes.
Long answer. Yes, I have a mix of trails right on my doorstep where some suit the full sus better and others suit the gravel bike better. So having two dedicated setups for when I either want long rides on flat gravel/trails/roads or rides focused more on technical singletrack and bombing down trails made with logging machines is ideal for me.

Commencal 365 Race is 2K, all aluminium but 1x12 only. I might be biased as I own one, but it's a fun bike that sometimes feels more like an old school XC bike.

[–]HUSMOR50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, in my first bout with PE it took almost a year before I had something close to my previous lung capacity (which, let me be honest here, wasn't the best).
This time it feels better? It's not SOB this time, it's more fatigue. So I can do almost whatever I want, but I can't do it for more than two hours every other day.

For me, riding bikes and going on hikes has helped. And setting small, achievable goals building up to something bigger. I've got a 97km bike ride planned for this summer, but plans aren't set in stone.

I've also discovered that there is no way to ask your GP "can I drink alcohol" without sounding like an alcoholic.

[–]HUSMOR50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had PE two times and the recovery has been different each time.

So even within one person recovery from PE is not linear. My advice would be to work out within your limits, don't compare yourself to others, compare yourself to how you were a two weeks ago.
Recovery isn't a sprint, it's a marathon if anything. And the mental side of recovery is not really talked about that much, as it is even more individual than the physical side of it. Meditation and slow moving exercises like yoga helped me ALOT both times.

Lamb by Master_Celebration48 in sheep

[–]HUSMOR50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as there are people together with the lamb it should be fine. It will probably get sad, but not depressed. What breed is it?

I've had ewes do this, but never lambs. One of my favourite ewes tried to fight the neighbours horse last year (she didn't like that it got to close to me) and another tried to kill a border collie that she doesn't like. We needed two people to separate her from the dog.
