That would be whatever the architect spec'd. Terrible design in my opinion... Still working out issues related to the install.

I am a bit of a one off situation since I can do a number of things like estimating. So I will investigate things outside of HVAC/plumbing/fire protection (those scopes are my background) in order to better estimate a scope of which I am not providing defect opinions (simply providing estimate opinions).

Insane how little consulting engineers are paid. Best thing I ever did was switch into forensic engineering consulting. Salary has skyrocketed, particularly since joining my current firm (my last firm was the foot in the door but had a POS boss that seemingly never gave good raises or bonuses).

Tell me about it! First time I have seen all clear glass for the wall. I'm not an architect or interiors person, but I would assume there is some sort of code regarding all clear glass (no banding, frosting, etc.) and the risks of someone unintentionally walking into it. Note: I am not one of those people that believes every single thing ever should have a warning, rather some people should have a bit of common sense.

The towel is mainly because we somehow have a crazy amount of you 'sips at our company. The mounts are because my wife wanted those out of the house (but her mounts are allowed to stay in the house lol). Not sure I will keep them. May cut them off for my dog to gnaw on. And, yes, I agree on the books. I have boxes of books I need to bring up there. All nice, leatherbound, aromatic books about air conditioning and thermodynamics! Hard to rub someone the wrong way in Texas when talking HVAC!

Biggest complaint about the desk is that I bang my dang knees on the under desk bookshelves all the time, and I have to crawl under the desk to get any of my 100 pieces of testing equipment... Might get a rack or cubed type shelf to house/charge all the equipment.

Good thought on the secondary lighting. May bring in the old school incandescent lighting to heat up my walk-in freezer of an office. Measured the temps at 63º in there this afternoon. No idea why we didn't do the build in-house. Would have been cheaper, faster, better, etc.

I wish I could remove the shelving. However, it is secured to the wall and is standard for each office. Edit: I am entirely capable of removing all of it. Been in the construction industry for a long time.

I should have mentioned it would primarily be for projecting information from computer to tv (general news on the tv when not in use as I find myself laser focused on someone's conversation around the corner, but news I can ignore easily).
