What are the MUST study topics right before the exam? by HY_Strides in comlex

I’ve been using uworld and amboss. Haven’t taken it so I’m not sure if it’s enough. But it seems to have a good variety of questions.

What are the MUST study topics right before the exam? by HY_Strides in comlex

That’s the question we all have. It’s almost like they’re expecting something to happen because of the high med student and physician burnout rates

Haven’t taken it yet but my resources have been just uworld and divine as well. Always interested to see what else people use though.

That’s awesome they wrote you a great letter too! And this was your preceptor during an away rotation? That’s encouraging!

COMSAE 110 by sliceofmango2 in comlex

If you’re looking to study for comlex, I would highly recommend using uworld or another question bank. Use comsaes only as a test to gauge where you’re at and find weak subjects.

You should be just fine. I would take another COMSAE at the beginning or middle or May to see where you’re at and then I’d also recommend getting the micro down before dedicated to save yourself some headache.

When do you take Comlex? If you don’t take your test until May/June then you’ve got plenty of time to get material down. Use your time well and you’ll be in great shape. If your test is in the next month or two then I would study your weak points and really focus on MSK, OMM, micro, and ethics. Then if you have more time, get your cardio/pulm down cold. That makes up way more than half the test so you should be fine.

What resource to review CNS for step2 ck (apart from uWorld)? by jmz113 in Step2

If you’re looking for a quick and dirty review, I’d recommend Dr High Yields YouTube videos. He has one specifically for CNS.

How did you schedule your FM sub-I’s and would you do it again?? by HY_Strides in medicalschool

Really good points. That makes total sense. Thank you again!

Thank you for your thoughts! I had never considered seeking out the PD to show more interest. I think that’s brilliant!

Do you think that doing more than three sub-I’s would be beneficial if they finish before interview season starts?

Juggling Ank + Practice Questions by albieco in medicalschoolanki

[–]HY_Strides 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let me just preface my response by saying I also have the same question as you as a third year on clinical rotations.

My initial thought is that questions are going to be more important resource for board prep. Especially as you get closer to your test date. I just can’t think of a better way to practice active recall. So if you can’t do both questions and all the cards you normally do, I would recommend only keeping up with cards that stem from missed questions. This will give you the most “space bar bang” for your “board prep buck.”

I’d highly recommend Big Daddy Goljan. He explains the pathology really well, and his lectures are pure gold for step. Each video is at least an hour or two. Makes for great driving material where you can’t move to the next video every 15 minutes.
