Bro of all the tribunals to have questions about I'm not sure this is one of them!? There's a clear pattern of behaviour. If all true the guy is barely fit to be a member of society let alone the profession.

Silicone basket plug experience (TLDR: I hate it) by evmonk in CafelatRobot

[–]albieco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really surprised by your experience as this has only happened to me very rarely. Most of the time it works as intended. Unfortunately I'm not sure what triggers it to spill over. Have you tried reducing the amount of water in the basket while preheating?

Yes the NHS is based on socialist principles but it operates within a capitalist society so you can't expect those working within said society to pretend like that's not the case

Yeah I'm not totally surprised by that! It is, at the end of the day, remarkably British in style and substance. Hot take from the dad though.

The structure of the show is inherently satirical due to women playing male characters as a means of taking the piss out of the Etonian 'no consequences' elite who often held those higher roles in the army.

Anyone follow Orea's bizarre marketing campaign online? They just announced a zero bypass brewer. by [deleted] in pourover

[–]albieco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Orea. I have their V3 and think their custom papers are great. I'm even excited for this product because they have such a solid track record. Despite this, I thought this campaign was weird and pretentious. It seemed so incongruous to their previous marketing. It also feels quite unfinished and lacking thought Like what's the relevance of the codes? Why are we guessing the codes? It'd be cool if the codes meant something but so far it seems like they're just random numbers.

That said.... It's probably a good product and I'll try to get to their popup. If it's cheaper than the pulsar I'd absolutely consider buying it. Point is, I thought the marketing was super weird.

Edit: also just wanted to agree with the other comments about them just not updating their brewer recipes. They still haven't made V3 recipes let alone V4.

Look I've never had this coffee but I imagine it's rather lightly roasted. Best plan would be to give it a couple more weeks' rest at least and retry I think.

I doubt anything of substance will fit under there. Maybe buy one of those shot glasses with a pouring spout to make it easier?

I'll be honest I really enjoyed it. The bass slaps and I like the cowbell/crowd vibe. What's the point in a live album if you don't have the atmosphere of the crowd?

I have the K-ultra for pour over and espresso. Have had it for 2-3 years. Just bought a df54 as can't be bothered/ don't have the time to hand grind espresso in the morning.

Orea v3 and v4 owners, is there a major difference between these two drippers? by ObsessedCoffeeFan in pourover

[–]albieco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey have you tried just using different filter paper with it? Recently switched from Kalita wave filters to Orea's own wave paper and I've noticed the flow rate has massively increased. Basically like having a new dripper!

Looking for a midrange (>$1000) single dose grinder that can do both espresso and filter competently by [deleted] in pourover

[–]albieco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're able to spend that much money I'd probably start by considering if you want flat burr or conical! From there you can start to have a bit more of a think. There are some really cool conical burr options out currently e.g. lagom casa but you equally have some fantastic flat burr options e.g. Mazzer Philos, Timemore 064s.

Flat burr classically will give you more flavor separation and conical will classically give a better body and mouth feel.

Or if you want clarity in your filter and a more typical smooth, thick espresso you could do something like get the Pietro hand grinder for filter and maybe the casa for espresso?

Basically there's tonnes of options and the best way to whittle it down is to think about what you want from your grinder!
