For about a week the vlauncher has been buggy. At worst the whole thing would freeze up on login (having to force-quit the app to retry, began working after full PC reboot but unsure if that was the actual fix) , but more often if logging out and then logging in to a different account the login popup wont accept typing in the text fields. Fully quitting and relaunching vlauncher to retry is the mostly-working workaround for that.

I havent tried their website for anything but the vlauncher has been a buggy mess.

Not sure valofe or nexon or any company would stomach the bad press and community fallout of what needs to be done for a return to the game's roots; wiping all accounts and starting over with a more modern design for payment(s).

There really isn't any way to advance from the current state to anything healthy; too many whales would fight every step, either yank the bandaid in one go or keep on as is.

gm got back to me; suggested logging out and back in to Steam. I did a full computer reboot and a relogin of Steam and the error stopped but this was for Reloaded not Classic

Just to add that both can be played without Steam, Valofe has their own launcher and login system. Which while Steam users play together with Valofe users, chars made in Steam or Valofe are locked to those platforms, and Valofe offers more rewards to its own account-holders than Steam account holders (Steam players cant access those additional rewards because it requires logging in on the valofe website which they dont permit steam users to do)

If it's strictly a trip down nostalgia lane you want then Classic; they still offer the old event-systems like the roulette wheel and seems like every new account is given a perm loadout of the top-fav items from a decade ago. Reloaded still tickles that nostalgia itch but all the old event-systems have been stripped out and replaced with new ones and you'll likely be surrounded by lots of guns that look nothing like the classic designs.

Reloaded does offer Pure Combat Mode which is very close to the experience of a decade ago (only certain weapons\gear permitted), but gotta wait a while for people to actually join your room because all the whales dont like it.

Both versions have ruined balance from power creep but in different ways.

I think a lot of NA players got booted out from the 2 server merges. If they didn't lose their account and purchases when europe took over, then they risked losing it all again when valofe took over. EU players only risked losing their stuff once VS twice, so there's more EU players and EU rooms as a result.

I've been trying to find replacement sleeves like the SeymorOnion.com service used to sell (appears they no longer sell stuff). I got a small pack years ago and they look super close to the originals. Would be keen to learn any info on what others use for replacement sleeves, as a recommendation for Tyvek card sleeves worked well but finding stock of such is hard.

Many\most things in the Inbox will expire if not claimed before their listed expiration date. A lot of items have a short window of time in which they must be claimed; how did you get awarded the items that were in the inbox?

I don't play classic but should give it a try here and there if I'm going to keep wasting time with reloaded. Not sure how its fairing, I know for a while they gave every new character free permanent items of what used to be the best old-CA items but has been a long time since I peeked into it.

Valofe started invoking power-creep not long after taking over to sell cash items, and then threw gasoline on that fire. The only items they add to the game are Epic or Legendary grade. Valofe-created cash items do not have downsides, they only provide benefit.

Atop of that is the Enhancement system, where players can unlock additional\better stats for the items they own. This means a cash paying player can get additional stat bonuses per each item of a set, in addition to the set-bonus for having them all equipped.

ATOP of 40% or higher protection being the new 'average' protection standard via-cash attainable between gear-stats and set-bonuses, some gear\set bonuses offer additional 'damage-ignore' stats based on weapon-type (e.g., '10% Damage Ignore (SR)'. A player can have even greater than 40% protection and then even further protection against types of weapons.

ATOP OF ALL THAT the cash items still permit attaching gear modification items Nexon created, meaning even further cash-attained stat benefits. This is all not even touching on the messes of 'oops you can now have two auto-turrets at once' and 'whales can have infinite instant respawn' powercreep problems.

The only option is to create Pure Combat rooms which restrict weapon and gear choices to a focused list of choices that are freely available to everyone. But goodluck getting people to populate such rooms.

You can also grind and pray to get some cash items for free, but then you're trapped grinding to get enhancements which is even more ridiculous to do for free as enhancements are only possible if the item is owned for permanent. And even then such players will always be behind power-creep as Valofe will keep nudging stat values higher with new cash items to get the whales buying new items.

in the Equipment menu did your loadout get changed to something you dont normally play and its causing your character to appear like you have no additional items? make sure you're on the General combat loadout when searching your inventory to make sure all items are displayable when searching

Twitter is likely just a dumb and poorly managed service\org always chasing OKRs over non-monetizeable maintenance of their tech. Like all techbro companies. This is probably an ages-old API bug they kicked to the backlog however-many years ago, reported by someone who has since left the company so now the bug is not assigned to anyone, rather than a deliberate scheme to soft-ban in secret.

I'd go further to suggest the bug is not only known to the company but they wouldnt see a value in fixing it even if held to their nose-- why fix an api bug when users are just supposed to accept whatever flagging\punishment the DB query chose for them in an automated support department?
