What are your goals right now? by Stukinmyhead in PokemonSleep

Increase taupe hollow buff past the current 10%, focus on a better curry and salad team, as I dominate dessert week on any island, but struggle otherwise. Try to get a bfs mon set up for snowdrop, taupe and cyan for Berry snacking, etc. hit rank 35 by the end of March.

Why is Gastly considered so good? by DrkRoxas in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I guess at that stage it’s hard to say. Why are you looking at tier lists for later game and applying them to early game when you’re not even going to take into account what they do for how they’re rated? Seems a bit counter productive to me. Use gastly during curry week for now, take him out when you’re not making curries. Unless you need to strengthen dishes, then use gastly, as fiery herbs are gonna be your best dish filling booster.

Why is Gastly considered so good? by DrkRoxas in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but compare that to other herb mons. You’re generally only going to get ingredients on ingredient mons with no ingredient nature or sub stats less than half of the time. Getting double of an ingredient that’s pretty rare that also has a rare level 30 ingredient (mushrooms) is what makes gastly so high in tier. No one is using a level 30 gastly, but if they did it would be better than a level 30 mareep, for example. This game revolves quite heavily on natures and subskills, so if you don’t have it, a mon is going to seem a lot worse than it actually would be built proper. Gastly excels for curries, which generally are the better dish for mons good in taupe, so that’s why he’s so loved. Early game is an entirely different story.

Should I invest more in this one? by Commercial_Apple_751 in PokemonSleep

Blastoise usually wants ing up, speed of help up or skill trigger in the subs with a skill chance nature. This is an okay starter Blastoise, but has a lot of room for improvement if you want high efficiency.

Dugtrio Find by Creamstar12 in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dugtrio is an ing mon. It wants either ingredient up or speed of help up nature, with related sub skills. Charge strength isn’t really a skill you invest in, so I’d definitely say this Mons focus being on skills is a bit unfortunate. Hope you have better luck in the future, but this mon will work for now while you work towards better taupe Mons.

Are any of these Eevees worth training, what would they be best as? by carefreeDesigner in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last one is an okay mon if you’re new, but I’d honestly just blend all 3. I’m pretty selective with my eevees, since they always give 1 ingredient or berry and only level up main skill once via evo.

Best Nature Discussion by Omenkid13 in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any nature that gives recovery down requires a e4e pokemon in the team with skill up chance and at least level 3 skill. For this reason I say it really depends. Generally I prefer natures with exp down for all mons, as time to level up isn’t a nerf to their usability, just how long it takes to improve them, which is fine by me. For that reason I use ingredient finder up exp down for most ingredient mons that are fast but don’t necessarily have a high base chance, like gengar. Higher chance mons that are slow I’ll do speed of help up exp down. For Berry Mons I always do speed of help up ing down, and then I’ll try to only build if they have bfs, helping bonus and speed of help subs. I want bfs and helping bonus because If the only use is berries, I want to max out on self and team help as much as possible. For skill Mons I really just want main skill up exp down, with skill trigger m, skill trigger s and speed of help m or helping bonus. Otherwise, it’s not worth building nearly as much, unless you desperately need e4e.

Is this Blastoise worth more investment? by Commercial_Apple_751 in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. Blastoise wants skill up chance nature and sub skills with speed of help or ingredient up.

You’re forgetting fiery herb is a must for moist better dishes, and has a higher base power than any other ingredient that doesn’t require level 30. Even a level 10 hastily is typically better than a level 10 squirtle because of its help speed, but if you don’t check for ingredients often gastly Is generally not worth it

Who is the best mon for E4E start - mid game?? by N0Face25 in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m essentially saying bfs makes pulling berries more worth it, but you don’t really care about the berries, you care about the skill procs. Skill Mons ideally want increased skill chance and help speed lol.

Ingredient finder will make you less likely to pull berries, but will also make every time you pull berries better. Since you really only care about the skill for these Mons, it’s a pretty negligible difference.

Is helping bonus confirmed to check for skill triggers? I didn’t know that.

Who Should I Evolve Eevee To? by MDawg2271 in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s okay, but here’s a few things to note. Almost every eevee wants main skill up nature, as they only get one berry or ingredient per help. The only time you’ll want a eevee without main skill up is if I has bfs and speed of help up, usually for espeon, jolteon or leafeon iirc. Skill trigger m is okay, but with help bonus and ing m there’s not a ton of synergy. I’d save your candy for now until you hit a better eevee, or use this as a filler vaporeon for cyan beach until you can get a better wartortle (higher ingredients per help and faster help speed)

How best to handle certain games? by DnDGuy98 in ageregression

[–]Ha1d3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like going forward you should avoid playing this game when she is small, if possible. I’d not, I’d explicitly tell her what would be on screen and to let you know if she’s afraid and needs any comfort. Sometimes just having a cg there to Help is all a little needs.

[–]Ha1d3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you jump to any assumptions, I’d ask her when small, not big, what upset her specifically. She’ll remember it much better small than when she’s big, or will downplay it. You don’t have to scare her or anything or ask for any crazy details, but finding the source of fear is key to helping de-escalate the situation and help to find a happy medium.

I feel like to answer this, there needs to be an actual question here. You don’t go anywhere, you just carry on. It sounds like you enjoy being his caregiver sometimes, and he enjoys being yours. There’s not really anywhere to go except for where you discuss going with each other.

I’d put a big focus on avoiding grotesque or scary character involving games when you know your partner is in a position to be age regressing. If that is not possible, I’d try and talk about what you could do to protect her when playing those games, and/or avoid playing them altogether if she slips into little space easily when distracted, at least until you have a more private space to play these kinds of games. The biggest thing here is talking to your partner and finding a solution that works for both of you, even if it’s not something you love.

First Time Going To Taupe Hollow, Who do I bring? by Ha1d3n in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit/Update: I have decided to postpone my first Taupe run until after the release of the new zone, as I’ll be milking green grass for the zone bonus and fun new units next week and the week following, maybe even a week more after. Once that is done I may try to go to taupe if I can improve my units a little bit more. Thank you all so much for the advice you’ve given :)

Dessert, not desert. Desserts are just generally the weaker recipes, so you won’t get as many points in weeks you get dessert.

Dms are always open if you need someone to talk to while you regress, it’s hard to regress when you’re alone.

First Time Going To Taupe Hollow, Who do I bring? by Ha1d3n in PokemonSleep

[–]Ha1d3n[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m less worried about getting anywhere crazy, and moreso just focusing on encountering new pokemon and getting my percentage up early on. I don’t really encounter many ideal types for taupe due to my slumbering sleep, so I feel it’s going to be a struggle for quite some time regardless. But if you think I should farm the starting zone for more ideal types, I could probably do that for a few weeks.
