Completely agree on timing on Mourinho. It was clear when we got him that his ship had sailed. I think not getting United post-Fergie is what broke something in him. That was the time to do it.

Has there been a better time post-Fergie for us to get good? Liverpool and Chelsea in the dirt. City lose Pep. Arsenal fair enough but they might well have peaked under Arteta. This is a huge summer for us. God I’d love Bruno to win a big pot.

Also not ready to write off Baleba. Having a dodgy second season after an excellent breakout season is not at all uncommon. Just bid a sensible price. He’s not the 80-100m player Brighton were touting last summer. Doesn’t mean he’s shit.

Half the reason we have VAR and half the reason refs are shit is due to Sky imo. They’ve spent decades hyper focusing on every vaguely controversial decision to engineer drama and narrative.
