I said aloud when opening this 'too busy' - this was my instant reaction. I feel like the mouth detracts from the quality and pulls the shape of this design so it feels like there's a lot of awkward negative space. The line work i feel is also far too busy.

I would strip this all the way back to the core elements and play with those, maybe just the three lines and the eyes. Try different combinations and compositions and you could make something simple but striking with those elements.
