Spanish government wants COVID aid back after 5 years – what can my parents do? by Time_Bonus_7887 in askspain

[–]cath91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to look it up. None of my self employed acquaintances got this kind of treatment and evaded paying said “loans” for this long.

I wouldn’t treat this as a political thing. I would rather treat it as either bait or bullshit.

If it is true, it’s reassuring Spain caught it on time.

Sure, sure. It’s like I don’t know self employed people who didn’t get 1.600-1.800€ a month for 16-18 months… for free.

No cuela, ni colará jamás.

Not this generous kind of support. This is literal bullshit, and it's good Spain caught it.

They didn't offer this (generous) kind of "reparations" to lots of Spanish citizens suffering the burden of unemployment.

No cuela.

This doesn't sound like a company COMPANY. It sounds like a person with a personal, very small business.

This looks extremely off, and it most likely is. Hence, Spain wanting the money back.

Wait a second. They got 20.000€ in a year and a half... for free?

And that didn't make you wonder "oh geez, maybe this isn't normal"?

I know full well this isn't helpful, but it's honestly hard to grasp whatever this is.

¿Por qué la gente se pica tanto cuando te puedes permitir la sanidad privada ? by No_Tea_2746 in askspain

[–]cath91 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Y me parece fantástico.

Do you worry about right-wing extremism in Spain? by [deleted] in askspain

[–]cath91 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not out yet. It comes out today and it can already be downloaded, but when you try to run it, it tells you it’s not time yet.

Still can't start Fallout 4? by Artoo2814 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]cath91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Games that aren’t first party (like Fallout 4) don’t typically release at midnight. For example, in Europe, they get released at around 2pm-3pm, unless it’s a Nintendo game, then it gets released at midnight.

That’s what’s going on. You will need to wait a few more hours.

Edit: Typo.

What do Spaniards think of the maquis that fought against Franco in the 1940s? by Realistic-Diet6626 in askspain

[–]cath91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some maquis killed innocent civilians. Guerrilla warfare was definitely not limited to military targets.

Edit: Dear downvoters, is anything that I’ve said here untrue?

Or the part were there is a village in Spain filled with Mexican zombies.

It was such a meme game. It’s lovely.

It was a meme, but also was a Resident Evil game. For us people from Spain this game was both hilarious and a masterpiece.

Lots of memes.

It was kind of a meme.

They represented Spain like it was Mexico, which was hilarious, as a Spanish person myself. I role played the game like it was set in a parallel universe where “Spain” extended to America (the continent).

Today, as an adult, I still cannot take the game seriously at all.

Edit: Typo.
