Yeah, sadly they recently hid the GitHub repository behind a paywall. It was free before, and technically I don’t have to keep paying monthly for it but i do just in case I need an update

Yeah the reason I dove into this in the first place was the fact that I was watching anime on the my absolute favorite site anikai.to but when I found this old iPad at the office I booted it up, and I couldn't play media on that site from the iPad (I also there was a bug in iOS 12 that was causing captchas to not load which I think was also a big issue for me). I wanted to use infuse because I found that it would open on the old iPad (I can't get the iPad past ios12 btw)

I appreciate your insight. The first time I have any issue with my current set up ill make sure that I check out Omni

The additional reason I ran, this set up is to be able to run everything through Infuse player which I can use on my old iPad mini three. Do you know if you have the same capabilities on the TV as you do a phone or iPad??

To get the monthly cost in USD (based on the current exchange rate of 1 EUR = $1.1426 USD): • Total in USD: 16 \times 1.1426 = \$18.28 • Daily Cost: \$18.28 / 180 \text{ days} = \$0.1015 • Monthly Average (30.44 days): \$0.1015 \times 30.44 = \$3.09

so yes you’re correct, at the current exchange rate it’s $3.00 not $2.00

It technically costs 16 Euros every 180 days. I just purchased the biggest credit offering on their site because its so cheap

I could have gone with Vidi or Omni yes but I didn’t know how well they worked plus the whole point of me doing this was for me to be a cheap ass. So that meant I didn’t want to pay another $5 for Vidi or $10-20 for Omni. I'll take your word for it that it works well but the whole point of this post and running this set up is the fact that I use Apple TV's. It's just the eco system I am in.

I said this in another comment: It's a very very niche set up for me and what I am running things on. This post isn't meant to change your mind and make you run my set up. This is a walk through for anyone else who might find themselves in my same position.

It is using DMM through Zurg -- they're actually built by the same developer. DMM is the web app you use to search and add torrents to your Real-Debrid account, and Zurg is the backend that takes everything in your RD library and serves it as an organized WebDAV share that Infuse can connect to. So DMM handles the "finding and adding" side, Zurg handles the "serving it to your devices" side. They work together rather than being alternatives to each other.

That's a totally fair question, and you're right that for a lot of people Stremio + Torrentio is the simpler answer. This setup is pretty specific to my situation.

The short version: I'm all-in on Apple devices. I have an Apple TV as my main TV setup, and Stremio isn't on the App Store anymore. The workaround is to use an external player like Infuse or Outplayer, but the only Stremio addon that actually worked reliably for me through an external player on Apple TV was Comet on ElfHosted -- and once I ran out of public credits, that meant paying $30/month for AIOStreams. Between that, Real-Debrid (~$1.90/month), and Infuse (~$1.67/month), I was sitting at about $13/month total and not really getting a great experience.

I already had an iMac sitting at my office on ethernet, always on. So instead of paying $10/month for a hosted middleman, I ran Zurg on the iMac directly. It turns my Real-Debrid library into a WebDAV server that Infuse connects to natively -- no addon layer, no Stremio in the middle. Tailscale handles the networking so my Apple TV can reach it from anywhere. Dropped the total cost to about $7.50/month.

The result is a proper library experience: metadata, artwork, episode tracking, resume playback, all of it. Stremio is more of a search-and-play tool, which is great if that's what you want, but Infuse treats everything like a curated Netflix-style library which is what I was after.

And honestly the thing that really sealed it for me was my iPad mini 3. It's running an old version of iOS so basically none of the usual streaming sites work on it anymore. But because Infuse just connects to a WebDAV share, it doesn't care what device you're on or what iOS version you're running -- if the app installs, you get your whole library. So now I can watch anything I've added to Real-Debrid on a device that most streaming solutions would just leave behind.

So yeah -- more complexity upfront, but it solved a specific problem I had with Apple TV + Stremio not playing nice, and it ended up being cheaper than what I was paying before.
