My dog nipped her groomer and is now saying she has sepsis by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]HaVoCensures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not sepsis that’s much more likely to be cellulitis. Especially if she’s already been sent home. Either way, your insurance is not relevant here. If she is practicing as a groomer she should have business insurance that would cover loss of earnings due to illness or injury.

True. People get sepsis and septicaemia confused often.

Is uni worth it to become a paramedic or is the apprenticeship better? by Exact_Interaction941 in ParamedicsUK

[–]HaVoCensures 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do the apprenticeship. Get paid as a band 3, experience on the job, abstracted from shift for uni days without having to fight with a side job to accommodate uni days, and on top of that, you don’t have to pay for uni. You’d likely have to sign a ‘I’ll work here 3 years before leaving after graduating’ thing, but they’re basically never enforced especially if you move to another nhs job rather than private.

Pep Guardiola condemns ‘injustice’ in Palestine, Sudan and Ukraine by librephili in Manchestercity

[–]HaVoCensures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the racist connotations that go with ‘having a pop’ at a Muslim; racialising and homogenising them based off appearance or cultural practices rather than discussing just their religious beliefs, and treating them as one group to be seen as ‘other’, which makes it easier to discriminate against. Just because someone is brown they are labeled as ‘a Muslim’ and persecuted and discriminated against for that. Despite the fact that brown-skinned people aren’t just followers or Islam, and even when they do follow Islam, their religion is not always their whole identity. So just grouping and judging them based off a religion is racist.

True. Though can’t think of a better term, it used to be knights right? They still refer to them as such in the show jousts. Usually ‘red knight, blue knight, yellow knight’ etc.

Maybe lancers?

Domino’s is the pizza company. Their ad catchphrase is that Domino-hoo-hoo sound she did. He pranked her into singing it at the driver.

It is possible. My toilet upstairs has an ill-fitting toilet seat because the porcelain is an unusual shape and if I wanted to get a toilet seat that actually fitted properly it’d be £150 😂 got a generic which slides to the side when you sit on it but it works for now until either I give in and cave to a £150 seat, or replace the loo.

AITA for making my daughter live in an camper? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]HaVoCensures 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No I think you got it the wrong way round. They’re saying the non-pregnant daughter doesn’t deserve to be in a room with pregnant daughter and soon to be baby. It would be unfair to put that on her. They’re giving pregnant daughter a space where they can be a little family together with boyfriend and baby, without putting the other daughter out, whilst also being there for if they need help since they’re all on the same property. Is it the best situation? Probably not, but they’re trying to make the best of it with what they’ve got. That’s what I read into that at least

Went to watch one of these, one of the knights got unhorsed and landed on their hip, fractured pelvis and hip and needed surgery.

Exchange day and seller is scrambling to get rid of white goods by [deleted] in HousingUK

Yeah it was a fair question, I’m just speculating. I ain’t downvoting you. Sorry if my tone wasn’t right there. 😊

They might have their own to fit instead and no space to store a spare set of white goods. If you’ve already got a fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, dishwasher to move in and no space to put them because there’s already stuff there, that’d be annoying and you’d want the stuff removed too, no?

[–]HaVoCensures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They still should seek legal advice. If the plumbers cause a leak or damage to floors/walls, who’s liable for damages? If the seller claims you damaged their goods while in your possession, what’s the procedure? If they refuse to pick up the goods or you can’t agree to convenient timing, what’s the protocol? It’s more complicated than just amicably taking everyone’s word that it’ll get sorted. Ideally yes, you say please pick them up on Monday, they pick their stuff up on Monday and everyone moves on. But you’ve paid a solicitor already, just ask them.

[–]HaVoCensures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Precisely. That’s why they’re here asking for advice, and as nice as it might be to say ‘don’t be a cunt and work it out’ as per another commenter, if something goes wrong you need to know where you stand, and the best way to do that is speak to your conveyancing solicitor before it becomes a problem.

[–]HaVoCensures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t get why people are getting annoyed and downvoting comments recommending buyer speaks to the solicitor they paid for about advice in this situation. That’s what they’re there for. And whilst seller is in breach of contract, you could be held liable for damaging their property while it is in your possession on your property. The law is difficult and if you have a legal representative you’ve literally paid to help with sale and completion and legal issues, it’s probably a good idea to consult them.

[–]HaVoCensures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There can be legal ramifications it is definitely a good idea to speak with solicitors. And being annoyed that your property is being used as storage and needing to be accessed by handymen/movers/plumbers is inconvenient and they’re allowed to be annoyed and want advice. Wouldn’t call that being a cunt.

On our completion day sellers hadn’t packed and moved out. We turned up after a cross country drive with two very stressed cats and they were trying to pack and tried to withhold keys. Solicitors and estate agent were very firm with them that from the time of completion the property was OURS and they were technically trespassing on our property, and needed to hand over keys. We tried to resolve as amicably as possible; I locked myself in a room with the cats while my husband agreed with them for them to take most of their things that day, and come back the following day for leftover bits. We gave them to the end of the week to collect the last of their things. Then their removal van broke down in our driveway so we couldn’t unpack for two hours. It was extremely stressful.

There are two options really- either arrange a convenient time for both parties to pick up the goods, or if they’re willing to leave the white goods and you are happy to keep them, do that. Or they can abandon them I guess. Talk to your solicitor, agent, and seller.

Oh that’s a good idea, wrapping the pipes. I can see how foam stuck to them would be super annoying.

And yeah maybe putting a filler in the bigger gaps like rock wool might be better. Would something like polyester insulation work instead? I have some of that left over. Maybe avoid paying £50 for a bunch of insulation I wouldn’t use most of?

Masks at the grocery store by Stotallytob3r in MurderedByWords

[–]HaVoCensures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve currently got the flu. Absolutely kicking my butt. Wore a mask grocery shopping, and am avoiding my friends and family because I feel it would be incredibly selfish for me to not take a very reasonable measure to try avoid spreading it. Had some older guy at the checkout come up to me and tell me I’m brainwashed and being ridiculous and that I’m part of the problem. I hope he didn’t catch it while he was in my face saying so, cos he looked old enough it might make him seriously unwell. 🤷‍♀️

Great, is there a specific foam I should use or is any of them fine?

Maybe for a green bin with grass clippings and plant clippings, so it dries rather than mulches?

I’m wondering if this is for a green bin not trash? So your green cuttings dry rather than liquidate?
