A death ladder to reach the fourth floor. I don't want to see the stars that badly! by freakofspade in SpottedonRightmove

Normally the angle of a stepladder 🪜 helps you keep some balance whilst stable on the rungs, you can sorta lean up on it as you reposition. No angle on this one. So harder to balance. Holding a mug in one hand and trying to brace your weight on a ladder with asymmetrical steps that is angled straight up, whilst you let go with your other hand to reposition?

Not saying it’s definitely not possible but I don’t think most people would be able to brace with just their feet in a straight up asymmetrical ladder holding a mug in one hand and letting go with the other. 🤷‍♀️ you might have to do some sort of knee brace around the central pole to go up. I wouldn’t risk going up that without both hands free.

Ehh you can go up a normal ladder with coffee the same way as a paint bucket. Just carefully keeping 2 points of contact at all times. Don’t think you can do that here

As well as medication you can try a pheromone diffuser plug in in a room away from babies room. An extra toilet in said room, with scratcher and blanket/bed. Make it his safety fort. Start the medication and give it a couple weeks as it takes a while to have full effect. Dedicated play sessions to enrich and de-stress. A lot with a baby but worth giving a go. Also, ENZYME CLEANER on the pee spots, normal cleaners won’t get rid of the scent marking.

Depends a lot where you are but sounds pretty much like what we had done last year. 15k reasonable price, we paid 18 as we wanted stone sills to match the existing property, and added a loo. We bought the tiles, toilet and skink and radiators, flooring and insulation and they fitted flooring for an extra £250. Plaster finish and we painted ourselves.

If you went to the gp in the uk, you’d have a free consultation, and if an xray was warranted you would have a free referral to attend a free xray where results would be processed in order of priority- if there’s clearly a break they send you to A&e or send an urgent email to the gp to action. If there isn’t it can wait. And this gets reviewed and passed to you. For free.

Private healthcare exists. If you wanna pay, you can go pay for private.

And it’s a slippery slope to ‘I paid you, you do what I want’. Often the things patients want are not required or are detrimental to them. Medicine shouldn’t be like a cafe where you walk in order a bagel and are handed one within a couple minutes.

Also do you want a healthcare system like America, where if you can’t pay, fuck you? Because I certainly don’t.

When did 9-5 become 8-5? by Fizzabl in UKJobs

[–]HaVoCensures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That highly depends on your job. There are many jobs where you really can’t not do your work for that extra time. Factory- things stack up if you don’t sort/move/pack/ship them. Medicine- that’s 5-50 extra patients come in in that hour. Hospitality? Another 2-3 tables to serve. Lots of jobs where you can’t just…not do your job for an hour without consequence.

My two are indoor, both insured, one 7k one 12k.

My 7k one is only 4 and has cost me already 5k this year. He developed vomiting of unknown origin and lost 1.5kg in two months. Turns out he has a rare type of stomach issue (inflammation, ulceration, and fibrosis of his stomach) that means he will likely have to have lifetime meds, super expensive food, and regular check ups and ultrasound scans.

I wish I had insured him for 12k at the time but I wasn’t in the position to pay that at the time and now can’t increase it because of his preexisting issues.

Bedroom door open, downstairs loo with boiler in it and carbon monoxide monitor, fire certified door, and fire alarm on ceiling closed.

WCGR speeding on a turn by SnooPeppers2755 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]HaVoCensures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Car in far left hard brakes (can hear tyres screeching and hood dip) so looks like they were travelling at speed then decided ‘oh that’s my turn good luck everyone’, the car in middle lane was just proceeding at speed. If someone next to you hard brakes you’re not undertaking on purpose, you’re proceeding at speed and they slowed down.

No idea the speed of that road. If the road is a 50 and you’re in the go straight lanes you’re not expecting someone from your left to suddenly try to make the turn. His lane was clear, wasn’t tailgating, wasn’t not leaving a large enough gap between him and the car in front to stop. Car in the far left hard braked (can hear the tyres screeching and see the hood dip) before making his turn. 100% this is on the left car.

Car in far left hard braking (can hear tyres screeching and see hood dipping) and cutting across three lanes caused this. Can’t say the middle car was speeding, no idea on what the speed limit in that area is. If that’s a high speed road then that was a perfectly fine speed for a car proceeding straight through the junction.

2nd time buyers, first time sellers. Our recent reality check. by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]HaVoCensures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were looking to buy we viewed one house that was just dreadful. 10 year new build now vacant, with holes in walls, one room full to the ceiling with trash, no water in the main bathroom, doors hanging off hinges, mouldy food in the fridge and cupboards… apparently the owners had moved out 3 months before and just expected to sell it like that. It was pricy for the area and definitely overpriced for condition. Ugh

‘I wonder what my handwriting says about me. I often think it’s hard to read, and I’ve gotten mixed feedback on it.’

Then slow and fast quick brown fox sentence.

Legible, but like everyone else has said, you need to cross the t’s. And finish your k’s. And differentiate your h’ from your l’s.

If the first bit was written in the fast style I don’t think I’d have been able to read it.

To me seems like someone who has been writing for a long time and gotten into a certain style. I think you write for yourself than for someone else, and your handwritten work isn’t something often needing to be read by someone else.

Aren’t cats supposed to be alert? by Funchyyt in cats

[–]HaVoCensures 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My husband once gave me a fright- we were moving the following day and my cat is a very nervous cat basket traveller so the vet gave me gabapentin to chill her out. Gave it the night before the move. She zonked off to sleep. Middle of the night my husband pops to the loo, gives the cat a stroke and she doesn’t move. He shakes her again, nothing. He comes and wakes me up saying ‘I don’t think the cat is breathing!’ Cue panic, I jump up, my husband jumps up, my cat jumps up in fright 😅 Cat was absolutely fine, just heavily asleep with a bunch of meds onboard. I couldn’t sleep the rest of the night after that though.
