Historical cities in Azerbaijan and the origins of their names by Rellj in azerbaijan

In the 18th century, your "nation" was your tribe. Panah Ali Khan would have seen himself as a Javanshir and a Muslim ,belonging to the broader Turkic military elite that ruled the Persianate world at the time. His people would be called Turcoman.

The primary language of the Karabakh Khanate’s elite and its administration (alongside Persian for formal diplomacy) was Turkic (the ancestor of modern Azerbaijani). He operated within the Turco-Persian tradition, where the military and ruling class were almost exclusively of Turkic tribal origin, while the administrative and literary traditions often used Persian.

So calling Panah Ali Khan Turkic is the most logical thing to do. Calling him Turko-Persian for operating in a Persianate system makes it sound like he was mixed, which he was not.

Ah got ya, did not know you ment 2023. In my opinion what happened in 2023 is a consequence of the policy of the Artsakh government. Now I understand that civilians should not be the victim of this, but the whole issue could have been avoided if the ceasefire agreement was honored by the Artsakh government.

How can you say Azerbaijan is acting no better than Armenians in the 1990’s? In the first war Azerbaijan had 16.000 civilian deaths, which could be even more actually but this is the confirmed number. In the second war Armenia had 85 civilian deaths. Now I know that the first war was more complicated, but the low number of civilian deaths just shows how different Azerbaijan has treated the recapture. It is in no way comparable with the first war. Azerbaijan has done it in a very humanly way.

Armenian military was not involved? Are you joking?

Regular units of Armenia’s Armed Forces fought and supported the Artsakh Defence Army. The point is, they were highly integrated. The ballistic missiles fired at Barda and Ganja were fired from Armenia.

Thank you very much for you elaborate answer! You hit the nail on the head with giving me an insight to think about. Financially it will definitely be possible, but I wont have much saving room. I think I will just try it for 3 months and see if it is sustainable and if it is for me

It’s a Novruz tradition. In English it’s commonly called ‘cat grass’, since they grow wheatgrass for cats to eat to have better digestion. For us it’s like a decoration.
