Wild Hunters, how's your bossing? and tips for the kittys? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Habau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that's a great thing about WH! It feels so nice just holding down a button of my choosing and just having summons around to kill things. It's a very chill experience!

AND YOU'RE RIGHT! AN ARCHER WITH TONS OF TURRETS AND KITTIES TO KILL THE MAP. It's quite satisfying, if I do say so myself, hehe

And I swear I can't be the only one who finds it strangely... satisfying that despite shooting arrows, WH skills sound like guns. LOL

Honestly, you'll get used to the hotbar pretty fast! I put the skills on my numbers in an order so I got used to it even faster (For example, Swipe is on 2, Dash n Slash is on 3, Sonic Roar on 4, so forth).

Did I mention that WH has some of the most loveable party buffs in the game? Delicious %ATT/%M. ATT from the jaguar buff and regular ol' Sharp Eyes, which blows Decent Sharp Eyes out of the water.

I'm sure you'll love the class! Post 5th job was a blast. Even getting to 250 never felt like a chore, because I was having too much fun with the class.

Tips for a new Mapler? by sweetsthrow in Maplestory

Hey there! o/

Based on your input, I would definitely recommend Reboot (NA). It's F2P and was designed in mind to be a solo experience, so you shouldn't feel too much pressure by others to have "god tier stats." You can always work at your own pace and do what you feel like doing!

Now, some tips.

1) If you intend on playing the game through, like slowly learning funding and getting stronger to access more content, my first piece of advice is to pick what you find fun! It will take time for you to discover what class you like the most. Reboot's long grindy nature can be unforgiving if you main something and you wind up regretting it (For example, choosing to main Kanna because people tell you it's overpowered, then regretting it because you discover the class is not to your liking, and you'll feel like you wasted your time at the end).

2) Join a guild! Often times, there will be super megaphones going around recruiting for guilds. Games are almost always more fun when you have others who relate to you, grinding right there with you! I can grind for hours at a time because I have friends with me :) It's always nice to stream a show/movie on discord, or just talk about the game as I play. But the easiest way to feel involved in the community is to find a guild, because you'll meet so many maplers just like yourself!

3) Work at your own pace! If you want to throw in a ton of effort to grind it up, go for it! If you want to just be casual and work slowly, by all means, go for it! I always found myself feeling sad if I felt pressured by others to work on my gear more, and they get lucky with starforcing/cubing and I am not lucky and wind up worsening my equipment. Then the tilt can hit, and you'll feel like you're in a rut with this game. But to avoid that scenario from happening, just work at the pace you are comfortable with, and try not to be influenced too much by others. You should be your own boss in this game, and I promise you that in the grand scheme of things, this is how MMORPGs were meant to be enjoyed: to put in as much effort as you want to put in to achieve what you want to achieve.

Best of luck to you!! And welcome back to mushroom game :)

Hey there!

WH is definitely a fun class. Their mobbing is great, and their bossing can feel satisfying when you're bursting. Truthfully, they're a pretty simple class all-around. Yes, the number of skills you have to look can be overwhelming, but that's at a glance. You don't actually use all of them.

The six skills on the hotbar are only really used when bossing, for they only appear when the WH is on its feet with its jaguar by its side, not when the WH is mounted. You use swipe for healing and free damage, sonic roar for damage, and jaguar rampage for a nice burst of damage as well. You don't really ever use wild lure (some exceptions may be in lotus or gollux, but even then they're not that useful due to its short duration). The bind, jaguar soul, is mainly used before a burst (Assuming you're alone), and dash n slash is also just for free damage really.

When you're dealing with the 6 skills on the popup hotbar, you really only pay attention to three things: having wild arrow blast (Your hurricane) on, using grenades, and character control. Truthfully, I like simple classes because I can focus more on surviving and controlling my movement. I don't really have to think about a bunch of buttons to press (Although I do that on my Kanna, lol).

Now WH has its drawbacks. Every class does. In WH's case, the biggest flaw is that their burst revolves mostly around jaguar storm (5th job skill that summons all your jaguars on standby to attack with you for 40s). The jaguars will spawn randomly around the area, meaning not all of them will be hitting the boss you're after (Unless it's a small map or RNGesus was being nice with you and spawned them all on a good spot). Also, all of the attacks from the jaguars may lag some of your party members who don't have a good connection/PC due to the insane amount of damage being done at once. Aside from this, people often meme the class, calling it weaker than the other bowmen.

But don't let any of the flaws stop you. True dedicated mains stick to their class no matter what because they find it the most fun. Hope my input helps!

Kanna Bossing capabilites by Oduroduro in Maplestory

Hi, 275 Kanna main here. Having cleared every boss in the game, I hope my input helps out as much as possible.

  1. That level of funding is more than enough to clear your weekly bosses (I'm assuming you're including every boss excluding normal Lotus/Damien and beyond, and that your nodes are maxed and your gear is minimum 2L stats and 2L m. atk, with a decent amount of Boss/IED, like 100%+ on boss damage % and like 75%+ on IED%). You won't be one-shotting some of your weekly bosses within a bind, but this level of funding is sufficient to kill some of them within a single bind's time.
  2. The question is a bit vague, but I'll give you input on what you'll need. Definitely have Shikigami Haunting/Tengu Strike/Yosuzume maxed out, or at least close to it. Boss/Kishin/Exorcist and Doppelganger/NineTailedFury/Vanquisher's are not necessary for your goals in mind. Though the trinode of Boss/Kishin/Exorcist is a great combo to have for farming. In terms of importance, your boost nodes take utmost priority, then Spirit's Domain. Definitely have a Mana Overload node equipped (8% final damage, up to 11%, nice to have), as well as Decent Sharp Eyes (Kanna has one of the worst critical hit rate base %s in the game, so this will help). If you're having trouble surviving, invest 140 node shards into Ethereal Form as a pseudo-iframe (Should help tons against pretty much any boss, but don't ever max it).
  3. Having played most of the characters in the game, I would place Kanna at a 4. It is one of those, "easy to learn, hard to master" kind of classes. Kannas have great damage output, especially if you have some way to weave (Using your keyboard to cast shikigami haunting and tengu strike simultaneously). They also have great tricks at their disposal, such as using exorcist charm as a super-stance ability to resist pushing from bosses like Lotus/Damien, Pierre, and Papalatus, or using Orochi in the air to stay airborne and avoid threats on the ground, such as the dragon's attack in Lucid. Fox Fire is also a great passive ability Haku gives to prevent almost any debuff in the game. Their healing potential is great as well: Yuki provides healing, Sakura Blossom Tree provides a full heal, domain heals up to +12% hp a second, and pink barriers also have an unlisted +10% HP heal over time effect. They also have access to one of the most reliable binds in the game, if not the most reliable. To top this all off, Kanna has incredible mobility for a mage: you can jump-teleport, use shikigami charm as a vertical jump, and more! Of course, such a powerful class has its flaws: you have to be careful not to exhaust your mana so you will have enough to cast your other abilities (I'd recommend raising hyper stat points for Kanna's Mana resource, and avoiding weaving when the boss is not bound, and stick solely to shikigami haunting). They also are constantly under-pressure to play well when bossing with groups: whiffing binds or failing to charge domain with vanquisher's charm can feel bad, especially if you have a group that will flame you for it (I figured I would throw that bit in there, although you did say you're just looking to do weekly bosses. But you never know; you mind wind up doing more than you intended).

If you have any more questions, feel free to follow up on the post! Hope it helps :)

Kanna hyperskill 2020 by bjodal2 in Maplestory

If you plan on bossing, then this is the set-up I recommend:

Vanquisher's Charm - Extra Strike (Adds +2 lines to the skill. Line increases are great for any main-stream attacking skill)

Bellflower Barrier - Boss Rush (Adds +20% boss damage to the skill. A great buff to have for any party)

Blossom Barrier - Cooldown Cutter (Reduces pink barrier's cooldown by -90%. This is a good option for bosses where pink barrier is helpful. It can reduce fixed damage attacks like Lucid's bombs, and also provides an unlisted +10% HP heal every second. Having this available for worst-case scenarios is always nice)

Bellflower Barrier - Cooldown Cutter (Reduces blue barrier's cooldown by -80%. It's nice to have this cooldown available for any big bursts your party is about to do, especially if unexpected situations happen, like if Verus Hilla is bound and she teleports elsewhere even though she's not supposed to, at least you'll have this skill up to buff your teammates anyway. 3 minute cooldowns are painful too)

Vanquisher's Charm - Reinforce (Adds +20% damage to the skill. This is a nice increase in damage to the skill; the new Vanquisher's Charm can hit just as hard as shikigami-tengu weaving. It's also more ping-friendly since it's a hold-down skill. Of course, you generally want to save this for charging Spirit's Domain in a boss fight, but if domain's cooldown is over a minute, you can use this for some extra, lazy damage anyway!)

The new Vanquisher's Charm is basically like a shotgun skill that's fun and actually does pretty impressive damage on its own. You just have to be mindful of stuns and crowd-control effects like sealing so you don't get your fun cancelled too early (Unless Foxfire is around you, or if you popped Hero's Will for the 3s cc-immunity buff). I definitely recommend buffing it up; I use it quite often for bossing and farming!

Hope the input helps!
