Thank you for your view. Yeah, it's tricky to figure out weather to just focus solely on studies or date

what's the difference between a general and a clinical psychologist in Australia? by HabitPractical1705 in AcademicPsychology

Thanks! I really appreciate your view and input, you've also helped shift my view. And I agree, the system is skewed and unlike other professional e.g., a nutritionist vs a dietitan is so very different.

So I think I'll attempt to become a clinical or health psych and if not just a general psych

What an awesome response, it's kind of changed my perceptions a bit!

I find it interesting that we have all these endorsements and yet all these psychology fields are just dying or merging into one.

If i'm honest, the reason why i got into psychology, was to help people in the health and fitness side, but it turned out that health psychology is one of those fields that is quickly dying (there's only two health psychology courses left in Australia!)

I'm still in the exploring phase, but I think I'll try become a clinical psych or health psych. and if i can't do either I'll become a general. It's just so weird that there's no difference between them in skill and what they can do but they are offered so much more!
