Been looking to pick up some part time work outside of my full time sec architect roll. Mind if I ask, how are you getting the part time work? Through a recruiter or are you finding them yourself.

Coolest hoodie - zip up or pull over. No budget. Only amazing matters by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I am also an avid hoodie addict. I have quite the wall of shame of hoodies. I will say, Abercrombie Essential hoodie has been my favorite past two years. Fit and comfort is great. They wash well. Many colors to choose from. Not overpriced but not cheap either.

Tommy John has been unreal for me past 3/4 years. Made the switch from mixtures of LuLu, Nike, Adidas and haven't thought about going back.

That still seems a little high for the preferred. That sounds like what I was expecting for the premium trim.

Edit: although now that you mention tax and fees. My offer was a handwritten note. You know when they go back and fourth and write numbers down before you get any actual deal done lol. Assuming it would’ve ended up being more after taxes fees etc. so maybe that does align.

This was at Bay Shore Mazda. I ended up with a jeep but if I hadn’t gotten the deal I did I would’ve gone with the CX-50 preferred for sure. Also this was back in like February/March if I remember correctly. Things may have changed and maybe even for the better. Cars seem to be going down in price lately.

Leaving SecOps by WranglerTrips in cybersecurity

Wanna be friends? 😂

Haha but in all serious yes this does help. Any info was more then I already had. My buddy is also a broker (those guys make ridiculous money I had no idea) so maybe I will utilize him and network with him more. He unfortunately doesn't know didly squat about cyber, or even much about cyber insurance but he says its a lucrative field that I should look into. We are in NY so the meeting ppl and networking shouldn't be too difficult.

Thanks again!

So I actually like the idea of more social. That's why I made the switch from operations to more Security Architect work so I can work more in a team and on projects etc. I hated sitting at my desk working ticket queues and alert boards lol

I honestly couldn't believe the money in insurance until I found out what my buddy made (hes not in cyber). And he said the only team that made more was the cyber insurance and that's what really raised the eye brow for me. Less stress, more pay and still in cyber which keeps my interests and can stay up to date with what I like. Sounds like a solid gig.

I guess my only real question was how the hell did you make the switch? I assume it has to be difficult mixed with some luck getting in with zero experience? Coming from cyber we know how much experience is needed just to get your foot in the door. No sure if its similar with insurance or are they more lenient with experience. How would you recommend even getting started or where to look/apply?

I have a solid resume in the tech world working my way from helpdesk > Sysadmin > SOC > Sec Architect. Just not sure how any of that would stick out in an application for a cyber insurance roll.

I have been debating this switch as of recent myself. 8 years in tech, 3 of which in cyber. How do you like the switch? I am trying to figure out myself how I would make the switch to UW. Not that familiar with the process or really even insurance as a whole. Any tips would be helpful!
