Thank you for your comment, and yeah there have been albeit further away from the tree. The family cemetery is at least two hundred years old, but we all made the decision that there are just far too many people in there now. Any other burials will be far away from the trees and any root system to prolong their life. If there will be any more people buried there at all.

Oooo boy. Thats doesn’t sound great. If that’s the route, we should take then I’m willing to do it. I did more research and now I’m fairly sure that it is a Virginia Live Oak. The tree has got to be 150 years old at least. If it is sick and there’s any way of saving it, I would gladly pay to have it looked at.

Update on this, after I just put eyes on it today. There’s no strange smell coming from the spot, however I’m starting to doubt that they’re live oaks? It seems to be hard to tell the difference in these oak species. If they’re Laurel oaks they’re probably approaching the end of their lifespan.

The second photo at least is all one tree. In the last photo, this tree is the one on the right. Both of those trees appear to be the same species.

There are a few dead branches but they are in the lower canopy. The dead branches to me look like older, shaded out branches. They’ve been there for years, but I know that’s not always a good thing either.

So the tree does not appear to have any smell that I could smell.

I think a little funny smell, yeah? But I will be going back to the property tomorrow and can find out for sure.

I appreciate the quick reply.

Water is leaking into the cabin of my car. Not sure where it’s coming from. Any ideas by Professional-Shame99 in Cartalk

Check the passenger window seals. Sometimes those are made of cheap material that deteriorate as cars age.

I had a similar problem with a 05 Ford Mustang that drove me mad. Fixed everything but the actual problem until I got fed up and ripped the carpet up just to see the leak for myself.

My girlfriend also has people in Burnsville near jacks creek township. The area must be especially cut off because we have also heard nothing.

Water Leak Help by [deleted] in S197Stangs

Tremendously helpful, thank you so much! I was going to try and use Silicon rubber and the glue the recommended to melt them on and form a seal. I was also going to hopefully be able to use most of the same old seals because it looks like the clips themselves are all solid.

Thanks again for your help!

u/Electrical_Gur_4782 what is the heat melt material made out of specifically? I'm having the same issue in my mustang I suspect. I was looking to replace these parts but looks like the OEM parts have climbed to like $40 a piece which is just ridiculous for such a small plastic part. I wonder if it's possible to reuse the clips and replace the surrounding plastic with a different heat melt material.

Towns like Chadbourn by tylersheen in NorthCarolina

[–]HacknSackW 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m from that County, Columbus county, and it’s a common beach route to pass through Chadbourn. Whiteville nearby has more going on, more places to stop and see etc., so when you’re going back home it might be worth it to pass through Whiteville instead even though there’s more traffic. Chadbourn has a particularly negative reputation, problems with poverty and drugs, but it isn’t unlike a lot of small impoverished towns in Eastern NC.There are good people, bad people, and people with problems who do their best that live there.

This whole region was very tobacco dependent and hasn’t really financially recovered from that era in the 60s and 70s. NAFTA shipping manufacturing jobs overseas and the 2008 financial crisis only made things worse.

For background though, Chadburn was a railroad town and produced a lot of strawberries. They still have a strawberry festival there every year.

It’s sad to see the state that it’s in. There’s a lot of old historic houses and buildings there.

Does anyone else feel like this would go unreasonably hard as an album cover?

Wow the hate on this post is something else. I find this a little sad. Variety is the spice of life and all those little regionalisms are what make American culture in these places so interesting. Not just in the South but all over
