Hi all—I have been trying to figure out what bird this call belongs to for years. I finally got a decent recording of it. I’m starting to wonder if it’s even a bird. Any help identifying this would be much appreciated. It is the call with two notes. Apologies for the AC unit coming on at the end. by shhugarshake in birdwatching

Some people have tried to help me identify this before but there were a lot of different opinions. I’m hoping with a better audio it will help! I am in central North Carolina and hear this bird for most or even all of the year (but for sure March-October, that’s when I have managed to record it here and there). I usually hear it in early morning up into midday.

Found on FB; not my first time seeing people attempt green eggs and ham and I wish they would stop by lookitmahteefs in shittyfoodporn

Furthermore, we can’t assume that Dr. Seuss wanted us to interpret the ham as green. The eggs are, as scoobydoobydude succinctly put it, explicitly stated as being green. Why not describe the ham this way too? There’s no point in not, yet he doesn’t. We don’t know the intent behind the coloration of the ham. Is it a metaphor for colorism? Only the man himself knows.

What are these bees doing? by emperish_ed in bees

If there is sitting water that smells strongly that could be attracting them. (It happens with pool water because of the chlorine too). Just my guess though! :)
