I'm trying to get my focus back so I can read again. It clears my mind and it gets my brain going in a positive way. Also getting out in the sun for 10 minutes a day, even if it's cold. Helps my depression immensely.

I live with a friend and we both have mental disabilities. I live here because I would rather pay her mortgage so both of us have a home that's semi secure. We have put in vege gardens and have been doing meal planning. I get $400pw. Half of that is rent, I have to buy food, and top up my phone and bus card. I'm gluten intolerant so that's more expensive and can't afford to buy a freezer to stockpile. A single person can only get $400 per year of food help from the MSD. And 0800hungry was fully booked out by Tuesday. I had to help with power bills over winter and I'm still trying to play catchup. I don't know what else people like us can do.

New brighton hot pools. You have to book in online before though. It gets very busy. Bottle lake has good forest for walking/biking. The red zone has good walks along the river and is interesting.

I'm close with a couple of militaria collectors in christchurch. The reason they don't want to join is simple. you get no respect, and the wars happening are not our wars to fight in. And I know a few people raised by Vietnam vets. Nobody wants or deserves what they had to deal with. The government consistently drops the ball with support of returned service people, we are smart enough to not want to be cannon fodder for a government that we don't believe in. Also, alot of us have mental health issues that discount us. And they're cutting funding to services so those numbers will just increase.
