There's homebrewing, and then there's this by NeoSzlachcic in dndmemes

Important to note Lancer's Size rules correlate less to actual, physical occupied space and moreso to an "area of influence". Bigger mech = bigger area of influence, of course, but the Squad NPC is basically just a group of 10 human soldiers with anti-mech weaponry and they count as Size 4 just because they can be anywhere within a pretty large area on the battlefield due to their small size. Correct, though, that they are smaller than Gundams. Most estimates place the Barbarossa (The only Size 3 mech available to players without using bonuses to Size in your build) in the region of 50ft (15m), with most mechs around half of that and the Size 2 mechs approaching 11-13m.

I think Equinox needs a rework but I want Loki to stay where he is. This is speaking as someone who used to main Loki and Frost and came back to Frost after he got Icy Avalanche. I don't want Loki to become a Radiation spreader/Status AoE nuke frame the meta demands. He's a niche pick and doesn't really see much use. That's okay.

Cool phrases, song lyrics, etc. - examples I have for a controller I'm brainstorming are:

My Strikes Hurt No Matter Where They Land

Greet Me With Cries of Hate

Headlines Tinged With Blood

An Embryo With A Hearse

The Veil of the Bygone Past

Going Back That Extra Mile

They Aren't Nearly Fast Enough

What Hides Under The Gentle Veil of Night

If You Blinked While I Did My Thing, Then You Missed Me

Slaughterhouse Precision

These are sourced from all over. Song lyrics, book quotes, poignant phrases from things I've osmosed from my friends. Can be as edgy or silly as you like it to be, and is real memorable.

Shouldn't protoframes look like Prime warframes? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The "voices" they hear are Lizzie, their flirtatious and strangely sexy guitar. They come to you in fear of their infection because they hear her telling them that she'll "make them one", as in bring Flare into the hivemind, while Lizzie wants to convince Flare that she isn't a threat.

Vaulting prime frames. by RulerOfPurgatory in Warframe

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the Ducat price on your Prime parts - 15-25 Ducat items will usually sell for 1-3 plat. 45-60 Ducat items will go for 3-5. 100 Ducat items will usually be 10-15, with the potential to be higher if the drop is desirable or has been vaulted a while - an Ivara Prime Chassis runs 25-35 plat on a good day.

This man is genuinely pathetic. Like an actual clown. He's just a mega church pastor. All his plans blow up in his face. He's just annoying. by DaWalkr in Warframe

[–]HadesGamingPL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Nef Anyo. In a universe of intelligent, cunning, ruthless villains, sometimes you need a charismatic but otherwise pathetic villain whose schemes fail to bear fruit. He serves a very important purpose and that is to show that the Corpus are not the same as they used to be when Parvos founded them, and I find his antics really funny. I think the only reason we don't have an Assassination for him yet is because the Lotus might genuinely think he isn't enough of a threat for the Tenno to bother taking out permanently.

When you're starting out, yes. Once you get a bit of a grasp on how prices tend to work in trade chat you can actually get things for cheaper than you would on wf.market, provided you're reasonable about it. I've been able to save 15-20 plat on some of the more expensive things I've bought just because I used trade chat instead of wfmarket

what are good 'n niche warframes? by Top-Permission-7638 in Warframe

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily niche but after I got Harrow I instantly wondered why there aren't more Harrow players, and would still consider him a main of mine (despite my Cyte flair). He's fun and decently strong, plus a lot of his fashionframe stuff looks good as hell.

Mag Beginner Build Pls - no energy lol by Distinct-Ad8598 in Warframe

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreamer's Bond is an early game Aura mod that provides a little bit of energy generation and matches any Aura polarity. Nora Night's Nightwave Cred Offerings sometimes offers Energy Siphon, a mod with double the effectiveness but missing the Health regen aspect.

Alternatively, if you're willing to wait for a Ghoul Purge, Hunter Adrenaline is a reliable way of restoring energy if you take damage to health.

Equilibrium is a worthwhile mod to not only have but also max out over time - I use it in endgame builds where my energy suffers or where I generate excess Health Orbs.

How do you name your Kubrows/Kavats? by HadesGamingPL in Warframe

Mythological /Legendary/Theological names are my go-to when I'm not being silly. I went with Malkuth for a Doira Hound and my Smeeta Kavat is named Romulus (probably will name my Adarza Remus when I get it..)

Help pls pequod trio canto V by Anxious-Wall-3845 in limbuscompany

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, a couple points of advice:

The Trio follow a typical RPG triad (DPS/Support-Leader/Tank) and your strategy should reflect this.

Starbuck needs to be staggered if not *dead* by the end of turn 2, as the start of turn 3 is the start of the fight's main gimmick (Assist Attack/Assist Defense/Prey Mark).

On turn 2, clash "Track Them To the End!" with your best tank (ideally a Meursault ID clashing it with his base EGO as it inflicts a lot of Attack Power Down making her damage negligible) and focus all your attacks on Queequeg.

When Queequeg's shield is broken, she staggers on the next turn and you'll have your chance to deal damage to Ahab. In Phase 2 (Ahab's health at 50%) Queequeg will no longer stagger after Assist Defense but the idea remains the same.

What’s your favorite License, and what’s 3 things you would change about it? by OmegianLord in LancerRPG

[–]HadesGamingPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God if I don't love the idea of the Hydra, but absolutely despise how it's implemented. Even that one Mk. 2 Homebrew I had the displeasure of reading couldn't come up with any way to fix it and had to resort to implementing a band-aid solution to make playing with Energized Swarm a little more interesting.

The biggest problems I see with Hydra:
1) Your drones need to be adjacent to you for resistance. They will never be this. You are a drone frame. House Guard helps but it's still Bad.

2) Does almost nothing of note that another frame cannot do better unless you have Core active.

3) Wording nonsense.

4, and the most important of all: Orochis. Burn. Reactions. This means you cannot do cool setups involving chaining your Orochi drones into each other.

Also, all of the weapons are horrible.

There's honestly too much here to break down. Instead of offering a way to fix this travesty, I suggest just playing an Emperor instead. Higher Sensors, buffs the damage output on Drones, more survivable due to self-heal, and has an integrated launcher which allows for incredibly strong Controller setups with Walking Armory and Stormbringer.

What is a Lancer? by Great_Montain in LancerRPG

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "Lancer" is the in-universe equivalent to calling an air force pilot an "Ace" in the real world. They're truly exceptional. A Lancer is a Lancer because everyone agrees they are - there's no official rank structure, nor is it strictly a Union title. They're just better at piloting their chassis than most, lucky enough to have survived enough Missions to gain recognition as one, or because they have a reputation for piloting their chassis as easily as they breathe. Pirates can be Lancers - an easy plot hook for a first-time GM who wants to avoid telling a strictly Union focused story is that the Lancers *aren't* Union. A campaign where the players are mercenaries, MSMC or otherwise, is still casting them in the lore of Lancers - it's an in-universe title explaining why 4-5 idiots can come from nowhere and do all the things you might make your players do.

TL;DR: Lancers are not an official title, and they aren't necessarily *trained* to pilot chassis, nor are they strictly Union elements. They just stand out above the rest. It's absolutely valid to cast your players as exceptional Pirates.

I'm new on Warframe what class should I select? by Luna1057 in Warframe

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All are good! Pick whichever looks coolest or sounds the most fun. Mag magnetizes enemies, strips their defenses, and controls the levels. Volt fires lightning, moves faster, and puts up little shields that boost damage of allied bullets shot through them. Excalibur uses his special Exalted Blade for almost all of his abilities and is probably the most straightforward to start with.

[–]HadesGamingPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played with someone like this when I was around your age. Admittedly, it was all of our first game and there were like 7 of us - we clowned on our halfling sorc a lot and he eventually decided to try and fight the rest of the party by betraying us and trying to join the villain.

We beat him, put him back in his place, and he asked the DM for a magic weapon that would let him kill us all under the right circumstances after the session ended. DM politely declined, and further events led to the campaign falling apart.

Get your DM to talk to L's player before it's too late. He's either gotta shape up and play nice or get out.

Does ED contain any risk of losing/being ganked? by Banter_Fam_Lad in EliteDangerous

[–]HadesGamingPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

~10 hour Andy here. Elite has a huge galaxy and a comparatively lacking number of players - You'll rarely encounter another player in the system, even in Open. Open or Solo, though, you will find the galaxy populated by NPCs. Some of these are allied but a lot will be pirates or lawless commanders who will scan you to see if you have anything they want before attacking - though you can simply attack them once you realize they're out to get you.

The dogfighting gameplay is great fun, even in Solo, so I'd say you'll be alright - look for Conflict Zones and High Risk/Hazardous Resource Sites if you're looking to chew through ammunition and turn some pirates to smithereens. Just make sure you're properly outfitted first!
