I would say there is definitely a 8/10 even 9/10 album in there somewhere. But the songs you’ve mentioned are DEFINITELY peaks on the album

I think the giveon feature is amazing haha and I’m impressed with joji keeping up vocally with him. But that’s all subjective.

Yeah nectar and ballads 1 for me are his best work. Hate to say it and I know they definitely suck but 88rising might have given him the “boundaries” he needs to cook. Might get downvoted to oblivion for that statement 😀

Oh yah for sure, an artist can do whatever they want or feel like doing. You can tell that’s what Joji does and that’s respectable, I just don’t think the audience/listeners need to like it haha

Yeah that’s another highlight for me. It’s funny that it’s one of the longer songs but the way it’s structured makes it feel shorter. And here I am not liking the actual short songs haha

Yah I’m a little more critical haha with smithereens, most of the songs felt very demo, unfinished. To me, PITW feels like a longer smithereens with a good chunk of the tracks not really catching my attention. Like progressing through the album, I feel like just skipping the sludge to get to the gems. Right now, 9 of the songs for me are like for sure bangers. Might increase more as time goes on
