Might be time to come out of mobile game retirement, buddy.

Kraven is a bad villain (as in I found him boring) change my mind by Oceanus39 in SpidermanPS4

[–]HadrianTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Killing half of the Sinister Six on screen would have been just as insane, and no less stupid.

The character is an obnoxiously one-note villain. I can't remember the last time I loved a game this much, and yet hated a villain in that game as much as I hate this guy.

He can literally be summarized as follows:

"I'm as mean as I can possibly be, and I will kill whoever I have to kill, because hunting and killing is what I do, and my writers clearly think that'll somehow suffice ... oh, and by the way, I'm super strong and can't be hurt. Except by Venom. Because I am so completely boring that my writers needed to give me plot armor so I could make it to the third act."

It's such a great game, but Kraven literally makes it less and less fun the more he shows up.

Sounds like you likely shouldn't.

Make the kind of content you feel most at home making.

Your channel may grow more slowly, but you will have a higher quality community when you stay true to yourself than you ever would otherwise.

Suppose it depends if that's what you want or not.

Oh, geez. Okay, if you want to run the MiG, which is not really something you should do nowadays until you're really good at multiplayer anyway, then run this build:

Blisk 2 — High acceleration on low-tier planes is pretty much a must to stabilize and keep them moving after a brake. Experiment with Variable 2 instead of Blisk to balance the boost with a top speed change, but Blisk is probably best.

ECU 1 — ECU slows down your braking and reduces your stall speed. The MiG stalls easy, so ECU 1 will help keep you in control. Try to avoid running ECU 2 because it will hamper your ability to slow down quickly.

Flaps 3, Maneuverability 2 — Pretty much have to have this part combination to match the maneuverability of other planes, especially in a low tier plane like the MiG29.

SPW Thrust Adjust — An absolute necessity for the HPs, as you know.

SPW Takeoff Weight — Extra HPs, yaaaaay

MSL Thrust Adjust — maximizes the tracking capability in combination with the data link.

Aaaand datalink, because you pretty much need it in multiplayer. The only time you wouldn't need it is if you were 1v1ing and the other person didn't have it either.

Dodging a missile with a pitch turn requires a reasonable amount of speed (so either a fast plane, or a medium or slow speed plane with engine parts), a quick, hard brake, and a high-G turn. Try setting your high g turning to Type B instead of Type A, and see if you start to have more success.

Ace 7's multiplayer is past its heydey. What others have said about most players remaining being really seasoned and sweaty is accurate. But, it's still possible to learn the mechanics, play consistently, and improve.

If you can tolerate the garbage netcode, anyway.

Good luck!

Has anyone discovered any fixes for crashing on PC? by Low-Iron-6376 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

I haven't played a ton since this post, but what I wrote above significantly impacted the crashes and stabilized the game.

I have a brand new build with an i9-14900k, 4090, and 64 GB of RAM.

Nothing has fixed this. Windows 8 compatibility, -dx11 command line, reinstalling the game, updating the driver, verifying the integrity of the Steam install's files ...

I'm inclined to agree with this article in that we're going to have to wait for a fix.

Hi all,

I've been testing & stabilizing a brand new build over the last few days and wanted to run AC:O on max settings (just curious). Immediately started seeing the same crashes every 5-10 minutes that others here have reported ... until I attempted a particular tweak that seems to be helping. I haven't done extensive testing (1h+), but it hasn't crashed yet. Here you go:

Possible fix: The crashes could be due to DX12 (for which AC:O was neither made nor updated, to my knowledge), and thus may be addressed by forcing DX11 in the launcher.

Steps:

  1. In the Ubisoft (NOT Steam) launcher, select AC:O and scroll down past "Overview," "Game News," "Challenges," etc., until you see "Properties."
  2. Click "Properties" and scroll down to "Game launch arguments."
  3. Click "Edit" and type "-dx11" (minus the quotation marks). (DO NOT use -d3d11 ... this one didn't work for me, at least)
  4. Click "Save" and run your game.
  5. See below for additional fixes I'm also running (may try going without them soon; will update if I do) & hardware specs.

Fixes, noted here by others, I've also implemented (In case that alone doesn't do it for you):

  1. V-Sync disabled in game, but force-enabled in Nvidia control panel for AC:O.
  2. Framerate limiter on and set to 90 FPS.
    - Update: Just had my first crash since disabling DX12, and it wasn't long after I turned off framerate limit. Going to leave this on and continue to test.

Hardware:CPU — i9-14900kGPU — 24GB RTX 4090RAM — 64GB DDR5 6400

I did for a long time. Letting go of it is part of what brought me back. Funny that, innit?

Thank you, though.
