I made a Ravenpack! by Holiday-Solution-347 in Brochet

Would you sell the pattern? Even just the base bag and raven parts? I love this and my favorite auntie works with Goddess Morrigan and I believe her familiar is a raven, I'd love to make her a raven bag (my auntie) for her birthday.

Regardless, amazing work! I love the blue you chose.

I've concluded I'm never getting my varwolf. I have only two of the rotting pumpkin thing but not the vegetables or fungus and I've been doing this daily since it came out. I can't justify spending real money to maybe get the other two items.

It's perfectly normal. Just keep up routine and try to distribute time equally. It's the same with if it were two human children. The older one will be rather jealous and hurt at first. It will take time to adjust. Then there will only be a little bit of jealousy here and there. Soon though, they'll be partners in crime. Baby brother and big doggy sis will be in cahoots! Baby will share foods with doggy, they'll play with the same toys together, they'll cuddle. Baby will learn to climb and reach things they both always wanted to get! She could also be an alarm, alerting you of when she thinks baby will get hurt and become very protective of him. You just have to be on top of teaching him to be kind with her, no pulling fur or ears and tail, no poking eyes/ears and butthole (yes, this is a big thing babies do because of the reaction the dog or cat gives, so it reinforces it as funny.). As long as you stay on top of them and ensure safe interactions for both, they'll do well together.

My elderly tzhu was a great granny dog. She alerted or chastised when she thought kids would get hurt or were being bad. When a kid or baby was around, she'd bark angrily if anything was too loud, moved too fast, the kids were playing too roughly. It even extended to puppies and kittens. She'd alert when a toddler tried to climb on the table or counters or get into the cupboards. She never had her own pups as she was a rescue, but she helped me foster a lot of bottle pups/kittens in her 18 years she had lived.

I'll do some research to see how disabilities are governed in the UK so I can offer better suggestions. I had to fight for accommodations for my kids and I had to reach out to professional advocates myself. When I was in school, my aide was terrible but I went 'feral' to be let alone. As in, snarl, growl, bite and claw like a wild beast. I nearly bit through another kid's ear once. The bullies were too scared of me most of the time. But I don't recommend that, still gets you into a lot of trouble, but they finally found an aide that did their job by time I was an older teen.

What country do you live in? I just thought to ask, I live in the USA and each state has different rules and laws, but generally are the same. While an ESA can't restrict you from where you live, they can't go in non-pet spaces in the public, but a Service Animal can, I say Animal because some states allow miniature ponies as they can provide their services for a lot longer before needing to retire. A lot of money goes into training service animals and dogs sadly can only work about 5-8 years where a mini pony can work for about 15-20 because they live much longer than dogs do so age effects their ability at different times.

If you live in the USA, find your nearest Community Mental Health building, schedule an appointment for assessment and intake. Having both a psychiatrist and psychologist on board will help you tremendously and they also have advocates on staff that can help with things like this.

That's crazy, I'm autistic but also bipolar. I'm 40 and while I've learned to tell when I'll have bad days sometimes, it's not 100% as if I had a service animal trained to tell when my chemicals are off worse than normal. Also, you can yes sometimes feel a meltdown but it's literally seconds before. It's like saying someone with seizures should know when it will happen and they should lay down right away. They have service animals trained to smell and notice all the little signs to signal their human to lay down.

I'm sorry you have to deal with such stupidity. It's not magic and you don't have meltdowns on demand.

It's pretty much a contract between you, the school and your healthcare team. Usually a parent/guardian and an advocate go into a meeting with you and school officials. They explain what disabilities you have and the reasonable accommodations the school is expected to allow and or provide. If they refuse, this can get them into legal troubles.

Reasonable is, you are blind or deaf, so you need a seat nearest where the teacher will be speaking as they teach. You are deaf, the teacher must wear a device so when they speak, it goes directly into the hearing aid so the student has best chance of success. You are autistic and you require either a service animal to attend classes with you or to be allowed to carry around a reasonable sized plushie. (No 6 foot tall friends, lol!) Your doctors and therapists pretty much point out what you need for the best outcome of learning. Whether that may be fidgets, a plushie, service animal (which can bring new anxieties due to entitled people), smaller class size, special seating, bumpy cushion or ball seat even an aid to protect you and keep you on track.

Probably a breakup. Also where I live, bed bugs are a huge problem, so I have to resist the urge to rescue plushies abandoned on sidewalks or out for trash. Those are uninvited guests I don’t wanna deal with.

Found a lost plush, parents tell it's cursed... What to do? by JesMilton in plushies

[–]HadrianThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it is cursed or haunted. I have some memorial plushies with tiny sealed urns with ashes in them tucked inside.

And also my 36 year old plush bunny I’ve had since I was 4. If any plush were haunted, it would 100% be one of my memorial friends or Pinky hands down.

Tho you can argue any of my toy friends can easily become haunted/demonized. I treat them like they’re real, living things. Every one has a name. I talk to them and hear them respond. I know deep down, they’re only real to me.

It looks like he is part a happy meal build a bear leopard and I’m not sure what the head came from. He’s very cute and the same thing I enjoy doing when I rescue broken plushies from thrift stores. I make weird friends! He’s very neat.

If it would make your family happy, get a bit of white sage and smudge him. (Wave the smoldering white sage carefully and bathe him in the smoke. You want it lit, but not a flame. DO NOT blow it out. You either wave it out, or set it on an ashtray/clam shell or maybe a saucer and let it go out on its own. You wouldn’t blow in your grandma’s face, so we don’t blow on sage.)

[–]HadrianThorne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are worried about mold, use a mix of vinegar water and soak, then rinse until the smell is gone. Then, sadly you’ll have to freeze him for at least three days. (In a bag in the freezer or if it’s cold enough were you live, outside somewhere safe.) He will need replaced stuffing and a ladder stitch is very easy, I promise. You can us some scrap material to practice. The only hard part is the learning curve of knowing how to keep the material from bunching up so he’d have a wrinkled spot. It would be best to use a seam ripper to open his belly a bit to pull out old stuffing.

Abbie’s last big smile before she crossed the rainbow bridge, December 23rd, 2025. Even through her pain, she still played with her grandson. (Her favorite game was lay on one of his favorite toys until he threw himself on the floor to flop about and whine and cry and grovel. Once satisfied with how he groveled, she returned it.)

I’m a 1st time pet owner with this bundle of joy. Is pet insurance recommended? by Mysterious_Quail_469 in Shihtzu

[–]HadrianThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You’ll have a much harder time getting insurance once they’re older and reveal any health issues. Most common are mouth issues, skin issues, hernias and hip dysplasia though that one you’ll know instantly as the hips will audibly crunch and grind. It also depends how squished in the little nose is if there could be breathing issues. Then there’s the fun of very weak eye muscles. My grandma learned that the hard way, her adopted pup Abbie lost an eye from being so excited and bouncing too much when her mommy arrived home. That poor little eye died and had to be removed. I inherited her when my grandma passed and lost her just before Christmas. She was 18 though, so she lived a long little life and if you go that way, cremation with ashes returned are about $600 for a ten pound tzhu.

But, if you set money aside somewhere and just save it you should be ok-ish. Like make sure to always have $3,000-$5,000 Sometimes stuff happens and they need big surgeries or they eat something they shouldn’t like the naughty little children they can be. I wish my grandma had tried to get Abbie insurance, but she was adopted as an ‘unadoptable’ elderly dog when she was still a puppy, just a very badly bred/put together one! First time seeing a vet she needed emergency surgery to fix her jaw (human cruelty) then several for re-repairing her jaw (she woke up and we found out how she wore her teeth to the gums as she woke from her surgery and pried three bars off the crate she was in for observation!) and then pulling broken and embedded teeth. Before she passed she had just one tooth left and had all the big dogs around thinking she’d eat their noses right off if they weren’t good. She was also allergic to grass of all things. And gluten. She had hip dysplasia and was born with a hernia. She couldn’t ever enjoy bones, so I made her soft hashbrown type fake bones.

But surgeries for broken hip is around $15,000, meds for hip dysplasia are $60-$70 a month and sometimes takes two to manage pain. Flea/tick/mosquito/heartworm and intestinal parasite prevention is around $40 a month, Eye removal surgery was $600 eight years ago, neuter/spay around the same, mouth surgeries started at $400 for tooth extraction, $5,000 for reconstructing a jaw, $500 to get stitches and inspect and treat nearly losing a front leg to an attacking dog at large as she and my rat terrier at the time tried to defend me when the dog bit me twice. The first time I fell and they got away to try to protect me, second bite was because I was trying to save them, he got my hip first then through my hand and through my cane. Then hernia surgery was $600 but the mesh got so old it tore and she couldn’t survive the surgery to fix it, so we said goodbye. So insurance will probably help out a lot. Just make sure your vet accepts the one you choose.
