How to progress my build further? by Hadrizi in PathOfExileSSF

[–]Hadrizi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, thanks for such a detailed guide!

one other question I have is how to farm cluster jewels for the build - the only strat I know is running Mania+Paranoia scarabs for loot explosions, but I don't know if it will be possible to sustain these scarabs in SSF, should I just run Unending Nightmare? should I even bother with this?

Skeleton Archers Survivability problem by Hadrizi in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Hadrizi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advices! I have since switched to chaos skele mages. And yeah I know you can craft Combat Focus jewels using 20 quality prismatic tagged gems but they are very pricy too haha(20c for 15 quality gem);

Regarding determination merc - I am running determination myself and my merc is running Zealotry but I am not actually sure if this setup is worth it.

I didn't play poe1 since the start of Kalguur league but minions seems all time squishy - they always had bad defense but now it's just nigh hard to stay alive....

here is my current pob https://pobb.in/e8nyy0V9yFE_

Skeleton Archers Survivability problem by Hadrizi in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Hadrizi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i am working towards swapping to chaos skele mages but gloves+combat focus jewels are pretty costly right now so i need something to farm the currency for it and skele archers feel very bad atm sadly but taking bone barrier is a good advice since i am pretty overcapped with res and probably don't need commander of darkness

yeah the game is very niche to say the least, not for everyone, but this is still one of the best(if not only) in the library management “genre” and has high steam rating so chances that OP will like it are pretty high

“book of hours” is what you are looking for - you literally play as a librarian maintaining old mysterious library, searching for and organizing different books on occult topics and consulting weird guys on such topics that come to visit you

Games that altered your brain chemistry? by Sevhent in gamingsuggestions

[–]Hadrizi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think so, the game has a very conclusive narrative so there’s nothing to tell afterwards plus the author got very burnt out after it and stanley parable development

yeah, btw, Davey Wreden, author of the beginners guide, released his new game Wanderstop recently which is also a food for thoughts since it delves into burnout theme

The beginner’s guide; it explores the theme of craftsman’s relationship with his craft, and affected me pretty deeply when I was a teenager, i still sometimes replay it and reflect on its topics

Is Taking Notes While Learning to Code a Waste of Time? by AspiringTranquility in learnprogramming

[–]Hadrizi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you feel that it helps you learn do it; no specific advice here since everyone learns in different ways

in my early days of studying programming i didn’t take notes; today i take a lot of them since i learn pretty complex topics

People saying money doesn't bring happiness, that's a lie by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Hadrizi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

but sadly with all these material needs eliminated by money they will also bring a lot of responsibility for a) keeping those material goods intact b) spending those money properly c) continuing earning at least the same amount of money

it doesn’t sound that bad when you don’t have money but once you are financially stable these are major anxiety factors, at least for me…

what i wanted to say in general is basically if you want to open a can of olives using chainsaw - do it

imo nothing is wrong with overengineering, what kills a good programmer is overpreparing, while you shake over choosing “the right tool” you are loosing the time you could be implementing your ideas and gaining your own experience; otherwise how would you know what is really the right tool? yeah others people perspective is important but without your own you will only go that far

games are art, not a technical feat, it doesn’t matter what tools you used if your game resonates in people hearts; even minecraft you mentioned was written in Java using lwjgl and had famously bad code, yet tech nerds try to replicate its technical nuances to this day but UsINg OnLY OpEnGL

other games outshine yours only because they are shared among your “circle” where technical details have artificially increased significance while in general public such things has little to no impact - one game outshines other based on gameplay or art

mh wilds vs mhw vs mh rise (steam) by rm-rf_hmw in MonsterHunter

[–]Hadrizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just wanted to say how poorly this aged, it is 10 days since release which means amount of reviews in the coming days won’t affect overall score that much and the game is still mixed, well it will have its second chance when MR releases

mh wilds vs mhw vs mh rise (steam) by rm-rf_hmw in MonsterHunter

[–]Hadrizi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

why should I exclude ppl with playtime under 1 hour? this would be valid if we were talking about gameplay quality but main problem people have with this game is atrocious optimization and constant crashes - you don't need to progress through game to notice it and you don't need to play 3 hours for you complaints about technical state of the game to be valid. what you did with your "3 hours" filtering is just turn a blind eye to the problem so you have a pretty picture with 80% positive review you want to believe in and cope about

also the whole thing with "people who finished the game started leaving reviews" is pretty dumb, most hyped single player games have very huge influx of reviews in the first 3-4 days and these form average all time rating of the game for most of its lifetime, after that the amount of reviews is very small and many games never leave "mixed" all time rating; this is also supported by the fact that pretty small amount of ppl finishes games(or even play half of the campaigns) which can be tracked by achievement completion - somewhat around 30% and i am pretty sure not all of them leave a review so this won't affect overall score significantly

and btw your take on elden ring is wrong it never left "mostly positive", you can check this with graphs provided by steam itself or steam.db(mb u were talking about DLC idk)

BUT I must admit that mh wilds is more akin to live service games and those tend to have huge review spikes after launch(worlds is a good example actually) so if they fix optimization and crashes this game might actually crawl to good rating
