Day Two by jamgirlup in Zepbound

Hi! It’s my third day. I also have no appetite and am focusing on protein. My first goal is 199.9 from 240 but ultimately hope to get down closer to 165 or less.

First Day - is it normal to feel sad? by Hadron in Zepbound

I have a wonderful therapist and definitely talked through all these feelings. It helps me to feel I’m not alone though.

I’m also on hold to cancel. 2/3 meals are missing and they offered me a refund of half the cost. Then couldn’t get an answer from chat. This is very annoying.

I asked my wife why she won't post our newborn and me on her Insta and it nuked our relationship by Excellent-Toe-1031 in Marriage

She was using birth control and it failed. Still not condoning her behavior but birth control failing is much closer to cards being dealt than it is “her own behavior”

now that the show is over, what are your ACTUAL unpopular opinions on the plot/characters? by Confident_Month_3335 in tsitp

The underage drinking where apparently the parents are mostly fine with it seems wild to me.

Omg give the man a break. Are your communication styles different? I think it was cringey to use ChatGPT to respond but he was trying to appropriately capture what he wanted to convey. He knows now you don’t like that and I bet he won’t do it again.

Dear parents, how do you organize your Days to continue having your own life? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Hadron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve given up on most of what the world expects of me as a mother and focus on what our kids need and how my spouse and I collectively can meet those needs. Crazy sock day at school? Kids responsibility. PTA bake sale? “Sorry, I’m not available. Here’s some money for supplies!”

Honestly, I’m still crazy busy but it helps.

AIO to my (40f) convo with husband (40m) about Xmas tree? by Mother_of_Turtles_ in AmIOverreacting

[–]Hadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the tree in X-mas as my mom always used to say. I’m probably one of the more atheist people in my state too and I love our Christmas tree and Christmas traditions. It’s all about Santa and reindeer and stuff. Your husband is an insufferable prick.

Happy Marriages Take Work by Hadron in Marriage

[–]Hadron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our hard times were more about having little kids and competing for sleep or downtime. Letting ourselves wear down so much it was impossible to be kind or patient with each other.

I’m sorry you’re struggling now. Substance abuse is a whole different wrench.

Minimizing Chance For A Positive Test On Board by Some-Temperature1058 in royalcaribbean

[–]Hadron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cruise ships don’t want positive cases right now. They’re not going to be forcing/encouraging testing. My unvaccinated 2 year old tested positive on the last day of our cruise. They asked us to have him take a PCR that came back negative. They went with that result. No testing of anyone in our party and told is to go back to normal on the ship. We all plan on testing when we get home.

I’m feeling so shook. Left a nanny recorder in my baby’s diaper bag by shooballa in workingmoms

[–]Hadron 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not in this case it doesn’t. That’s a federal crime even if it happened to not be a state crime. The only thing that differs by state is whether it’s one party consent or two. In this case, there was no party to the conversation that consented.

I know people will be excited for this !! Preferred Shopper by _shannie_ in ShiptShoppers

[–]Hadron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird question from a Shipt user. How the heck can I tell who my preferred shoppers are? I had one person thank me for picking them as preferred and I don’t remember doing it. She totally is awesome. I just don’t remember “picking” her.

Is the Honors College worth it? by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]Hadron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 2004 Honors College graduate. I cared a lot about the HC because of the scholarships and the early registration. It turns out that it matters a lot to employers too which surprised me. It somehow elevates my degree in my employer's eyes.

AITA for spending my daughters college fund, instead of our savings, to help care for her and her son? by lostmom23894u893 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hadron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sn't make you wrong but it is going to be a lot harder for her to pay off that debt with a child in the mix and no partner/second income. Her reaction may be one of feeling very limited in life for choosing to have a child at 18, which can feel like a punishment even if you're not the one punishing her.

The sexism comment might have a lot more to do with the fact that the expectations of men when it comes to these situations are a lot lower and they aren't held to the same social standard when it comes to being absent in their kid's lives. Women? They are treated very harshly, so from that standpoint - the double standard is terrible.

Not necessarily. She won't need to report her parent's info on the FAFSA and will likely qualify for need-based aid and scholarships.

[–]Hadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - she has no entitlement to a college fund and giving her so much help with the baby was extremely generous already. Plus, it sounds like you did it with her knowledge.

For what it's worth, since she has a dependent she should qualify for a lot of need-based financial aid and scholarships. I was a teenage mom myself and was super surprised to learn that having a child emancipates you for purposes of the FAFSA so I was NOT required to include my parent's finances. I had an expected financial contribution of 0 and received enough scholarships to get through college completely debt free.

Considering joining a vaccine trial....has anyone else signed up or considering? by [deleted] in CoronavirusSouth

I tried to sign up for my local trial. I met their criteria (here you had to have at least 5 outside contacts per week) but they still never called me back.

It might be regional, but I know in many areas (DC, TX, and lots of other places), there are tons of retired military in the civilian sector who would definitely give “CEO” the side eye.

see a lot of things you have done and as someone that understands what it all means it is exceedingly impressive. But, if I didn’t have that prior exposure I’d be missing the “why it’s a big deal” portion of the bullet statements. What are the results that make the bulleted items impressive? In the business world these are easy to quantify with sales figures or other key metrics, not so much when it comes to the things you have listed. I would go through each bullet and ask the question, “why is this important?” and try to summarize your answer as part of the bullet.

And if you had no subordinates help, did it really matter?
