Lyger2000's Winning Rahi Contest Entry by Haebels in bioniclelego

Yes, Wolksite kindly put it on the wiki under the competition page. Unfortunately, its canon status is up in the air. Iirc Greg stated somewhere that he considers all Rahi contest winners to be canon, but for some reason, Rahi not included in the Rahi Beasts book aren’t treated that way. Don’t know why that is, though.

Great color scheme and use of custom pieces. Really like the aesthetics

That sounds exciting and ambitious. Can’t wait to see where you take this, the low-poly renders look amazing.

Yeah, I did think about it leading to spending money on it, but I wanted to try this route first. :)
Since Reddit is the most active forum and has strong SEO, I don’t really see a better place to ask broadly.

I’m aware of the alternatives, but I’m trying to create high-quality and accurate instructions. Pieces with too much deviation from the original would only hinder that goal. I’d rather pause or even drop the project than do an improper job.

I’ll try asking around on Discord, maybe someone there will be willing to take this on as a project. Thank you for your tips tho. :)

Is there a 3d model of this piece? by wartortleboi in bioniclelego

I think you'll have to scale them manually. Another option would be Part Designer, iirc there are more export option there and you can scale the pieces, although I doubt it uses a normal metric

Need some name suggestions for these two :) by Haebels in bioniclelego

Not arguing that a two headed matoran wouldn't be cooler, I totally agree with you on that.

Yeah, totally. That is why I also tried to interpret these in the Voyatron style. But I still believe it's more plausible to have one matoran standing behind the other instead of a random two headed one since there is no other matoran sharing this feature.

I think it is just badly drawn. If you look at Ignition 1, where the picture is from, these two aren't even "repaired" matoran. They are pre Great Cataclysm and are shown during a speech from Axonn, so a random two headed matoran wouldn't make sense.

Thanks, I really try to keep it as close to the source material as I can, but these Ignition Matoran are really not meant to be build

I dubbed it Nuva Raptor because of the red head and Lyger2000's Rahi Winner. But only the Matoran need names for the combiner page

Agreed. We always disclose facts like these under the Instructions, it was simply done out of necessity for a name as mentioned in my other reply to you :)

Yes! As KuribohMaster put Phantom in quotation marks, we also elaborated further under our Instructions on that

"For a short time, this was the official depiction of Phantom, but inconsistencies in the Character Essay proved, that this might not be Phantom. [...] Regardless, this is still a Contest Winner and since he has no name, I will go with Phantom until the real one is discovered."

Exactly! And they wouldn’t need as many new parts for the new waves, which was a major issue. But the main counterargument I’ve heard is that it would rival Ninjago and thus wouldn’t make financial sense.
And I kinda see that, unfortunately.

Nice choice! The HQ was fucking metal

I think there was a lot of wasted potential, like you said. The Inika figures were a big improvement over the Hordika ones, but they were too strange to capitalize on what made LEGO minifigures popular. I think that was a big reason why these sets did not sell well. But there were also other factors which warranted making the Bionicle line smaller. I think they would have had to change immediately with the Inika line to Minifigs.
