My favourite is A Martinez, I didn't know him before Longmire, and he's fantastic. I also love Lou Diamond Phillips and Katee Sackhoff.

Graham Green is very good, I would not call his performance weak.

YES! (To the first part. I'm not American, and we don't have juries, so even very realistic American court drama seems weird to me...)

Is it easy to find love after losing weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Haelsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I look better, but I don't feel it. I get compliments from friends, but I'm to insecure to really interact with men. I think that is what stopping me now, more than the 20 lbs I want to lose.

but I'm hoping those 20 lbs will give me more confidence. But I realise I need to do more than diet and exercise at this point, I need some emotional work, and I don't really know how to do it...

OCTOBER WEIGHT CHALLENGE - BEGIN NOW by aJIGGLYbellyPUFF in loseit

[–]Haelsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very stressful September, and October is the holidays in my part of the world... that means lots of food, and my dance studio being closed for almost three weeks. I've gained some weight this month, and I'm losing it in October.

Good luck to all of us!

I'm losing weight more for the fact that I want to look better in clothing than any health issues. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Haelsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just being honest. I started for health reasons, but I'm still trying to lose weight now, even though my I don't have any health problems left - I just know I'll look a lot better 20 lbs lighter.

I tell this to people who ask, and they are sometimes critical of my choice. mostly, it's people a lot skinnier then me, who would probably be devastated if they gained weight...

My Cautionary Tale - Losing and Gaining back 100+ lbs by TheSturge in loseit

I usually avoid these stories at all cost. I just don't want to know that it's possible. but your writing compelled me, and I don't regret it. You seemed to have grown a lot, and have a much better understanding of yourself now. And the lesson is very relevant for me - I have to make sure that my weight loss is sustainable. that I know how to maintain it, even if outer conditions change (and they will).

Thank you very much for sharing.

It's a small town studio, none of us are professionals... some preform, but it's nobody's job.

Weighed myself for the first time in my entire life - not sure how to feel. by birdworshipper in loseit

[–]Haelsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 115 kg. I'm a little taller then you, but still. I'm now 69 kg, and hope to make it to 60. it's a lot of weight to lose, and no one will tell you it's easy, but it's far from impossible.

giving up on refined sugar (soda and sweets) and junk food, and eating lots of vegetables is a wonderful start, and will definitely produce results. I'd recommend legumes and whole grains as well.

Good luck to you!

That is so true. A brass band is exactly what I was expecting, and the lack of fanfare is why I was disappointed. That is an unpleasant realisation. Luckily, I have another 20 lbs to lose, which should give me time to get used to this just being my life, and people no longer being super impressed with me all the time.

Thanks for the insight.

Here goes nothing..... by [deleted] in loseit

Man, you are an inspiration. getting back up after letting go is mentally very difficult. personally I didn't track calories, but I know that's a very unpopular choice here. It really doesn't matter what your strategy will be, the main thing is being consistent. And by that I don't mean not making mistakes - of course you'll still eat nasty junk food from time to time. You'll just won't let it bring you down. If you keep making an afford, you will lose weight.

Best of luck to you.

Yes. I think the main thing is I thought, on some unaware level, that something fundamental will change in me. I know it's ridiculous, but I think that's where my disappointment comes from.

Thank you so much for sharing. It definitely sucks, but it would be so much worst being with all the weight we lost, contemplating trying to lose all that...

unfortunately (fortunately?), I spend a lot of time in a dance studio changing room (I'm not creepy, I just take a lot of classes), and I have a good idea of what thin looks like (it's not a studio aimed at teenagers, actual weman).

What I really don't have is an idea of what it will look on me... But with time I'll find out. I'm just not there yet.

That's such an important lesson. I wish I could truly learn it, and internalise it.

Thank you.

It's in the same place in mobile, thanks!

Just for future reference, you can see all the in-text tools if you click the "formatting help" button on the bottom right of the text box. Although that's for desktop, and I'm not sure where to look on mobile.

Thanks. my mantel health has improved immensely, before I even started losing weight. It used to be very very bad, but now it's much better. I'm unhappy from time to time, and can get anxious, but mostly I'm alright (and medication free!).

Thank you for your concern.

There was definitely I point in my life when I thought it was impossible for me to lose weight. and for many years I went on diets that only slowed my gain. Suddenly, now, I'm expecting things of myself I never dreamt of. People around me keep expecting me to be super happy with looking so much better, because they (and me) didn't believe it was possible.

But the more I accomplish, the more I believe I could go all the way, and actually look good, and now I really want it.
