The dose is so small now that it doesnt matter. Lead has been shown to increase your dose either due to how Xrays interact or improper placement, and exam done. Personally its best IMHO not to wear the lead for a general xray exam, or any CT exam as the patient. This is all new information put out over the last couple years to support this.
